Transfer question

Can anyone please tell me how transferring points work? Is it the same as renting as far as payment, or different somehow since it's between members? TIA

For renting or transferring, payment is entirely up to you, and DVC doesn't want to even know about any payments that may or may not take place. You can do a contract if you want, or not. I have a rental contract and a transfer contract that I have used recently, if you want a copy PM me your email address.

As far as the actual process, just call MS, you will need the member number of the person you are transferring to, as well as the name on the account.

Hi Mochabean,
I can only speak for myself, but when I transfer points I required payment up front. I write up a contract that states what DVC resort they were from, the UY, number point, the account the points would be transferred to, the price and the number of business days I have to transfer the points after receiving payment. I sign the contract and send it to the buyer. The buyer signs and returns the contract with the payment. I also recommend that the buyer makes a copy of the contract for there records.

That is exactly the way I did the transfer too. Because a transfer is irreversible, payment up front is the way to go.
