Transfer question

Hello,

My family is planning an upcoming trip that will include my sister and using her points as well as my own to stay in a 2BR.
From what I've heard, the easiest method is to transfer points -- so this will be my first time to do a points transfer.

My concern is that we are trying to book at the 7-month window and we may not get our top couple picks.
If we end up with one of our other options, we may end up using less points than originally anticipated. If my sister is planning making a points transfer based on half the points needed for the stay, will I be stuck with more of her points than needed if we end up at a resort that uses less points?

Is there a better method to avoid this?

Possibly.

I haven't done a transfer, but I imagine if you're both sitting there with your member numbers and answers to your security questions, it would be immediate.
Don't assume that though, give them a call and let them know exactly what you're trying to do. I bet they'll be able to make it work for you.
