Since my family booked the Kids Fly Free Pkg, our Mears transfers are included. Having never used a shuttle service, maybe you experts out there can help me.

1. When arriving @ MCO, will we procede to baggage claim, get our luggage & then go to the Mears counter with our vouchers?

2. Is the Mears counter near baggage claim?

3. Will we have to make all the arrangements for departure shuttle @ that time? (time & date of departure pick-up @ ASMo).

4. How long do you anticipate waiting @ the airport for shuttle to ASMo?

5. Our flight arrives from Pittsburgh @ 10:15 AM 9/23. Would it be unreasonable to believe we could be @ ASMo & checked in by 1:00 PM? (We'd like to try to get as much of AK in before it closes for the evening.)

6. What time should we give for pick-up time from ASMo for return to airport if our departure flight leaves @ 5:30 PM?

Sorry for so many questions, but we've always rented a car & are quite new to this transfer stuff! Any & all comments welcome :)

Although many people don't like Mears, we really like it! Its now more cost-effective for our family to use Tiffany but when we go for an "adults-only" we never hesitate to go through Mears!

1. Yes, after you gather your luggage, just head to the Mears counter. They will then direct you out the correct doors and give you your instructions.

2. The Mears counter is right next to baggage claim. Baggage claim is on the bottom level of the airport.

3. You will need to call before noon prior to your departure date to make arrangements for pick-up, they don't allow you to do it before that (or at least we have never been able to).

4. We have waited anywhere from 5-30 minutes for the shuttle. The 5 and 30 minute time range has been both during the middle of the day and late in the evening. Our average has been 15-20 minutes. This timing works out pretty good for us. By the time we get out there, sit down, relax a bit from the flight and start talking about our trip, its time to load up!!

5. I think 1:00 could be a reasonable time but might be pushing it a bit. It will really depend on how quickly your luggage is unloaded and how many other stops the van will have to make.

6. Mears has always told us two hours beforehand. One hour to get to the airport and then an hour beforehand to check in, etc...

Hope this helps!

Thank you Jake! That's exactly the info I needed. We had thought to plan for departure transfer around 3:15 PM. Good to see that we were pretty much on target. Gotta say again how wonderful this site is & how helpful & friendly fellow DIS'ers are. I only hope that as I take more trips, I can return the favor with my own helpful hints & advice.
