What's good for a snack from the Mitsukoshi store in Japan? I'd love to try something, preferably sweet, but I thought I'd ask for recommendations (and also "stay away from"s). I love chocolate, but other things as well, pineapple, coconut, just not spicy.

Mochi, chip like snacks, cookies like “Poki” (think that’s how it’s spelt). The kids I travel with have a field day in that store.

I will follow this to get some ideas. Glad I saw your question!

They will usually have the Kit Kat in different flavors they are all good including the green spicy ones.
Most crunchy and chip like snacks can revolve around a strong fish taste. The chocolate is not sweet like American versions. Any type of cookie will be fine as well especially if they have the ones with some type of filling in between, but again not sweet. I have never bought anything in the store but have been in and out many times just 28 years of trying everything under the sun directly brough directly from Japan.

Pocky. My kids used to buy those all the time. They are quite tasty and decently light for a snack. I know they’re available lots of places, but I love Hi-Chew - your jaw will get quite the workout, though. The flavored Kit-Kats are fun to try. I love the orange ones.

Hello Panda cookies are delicious! Little shortbread cookies with filling, I like the strawberry and chocolate flavors the most. Best part is if you like them, they're readily available even at places like Target/Walmart.
