Transfer points question...

I currently have a reservation booked for this February at BLT, and I had to borrow a few points from my 2011 UY to make the reservation. If I was to have points transfered into my account from another member, could I have those transfered points applied to my reservation, and have my borrowed points put back in the 2011 UY???

unfortunately not...once points are borrowed they can't be put back in your 2011 use year

Okay, good point, but MS did tell me that I could bank my 2010 points into 2011.
Its essentially the same thing, just a different way to get the same results...The only question is if I can get those transfered points put towards the reservation.

The transfered points have to be used by March of 2011

If the reservation was made using the 11 month priority, it may require a cancellation and rebooking to use transferred points at this point. If there is no wait list you should be fine, otherwise you could lose your reservation.

MS might allow it if the transferred points are from BLT, but even then it could require a cancellation/rebook based on availability.

If the BLT reservation was made within 7 months, there should be no problem reallocating points so that your 2010 points could still be banked (subject to normal banking deadlines).

I'd sure check with MS before going to the trouble of a transfer and then still possibly losing the existing reservation.

MS will usually allow transferred points to be banked beyond the usual banking deadlines, so I'd check that also.

That is extremely helpful!! The reservation was made within the 7 month window.

I was going to call MS first thing in the morning anyway, but I thought I would check here first!!
