Does anyone know if there is a place anywhere in WDW to get a digital memory card transferred to a CD and if so, how much it might cost or any other details?

I am wondering the same thing!!! It would save us lugging our lap top.

Yes, you can get photos transfered from your memory card to a CD at the Town Square Exposition Hall on Main Street for $12 and change per CD. Each CD holds 125 photos. It was a real life saver for me.

Thanks. I wonder if the other parks offer this, too or if it's only at the MK.

We were there in 2/06, at MGM/Kodak center did it for us. Though the cd held over 400 pics.

Why not just carry extra memory cards? 1gb is like $15 and thats another 500-600 pictures of Mickey. :cheer2:

No problem. We will be there in about a week  and will have 5 1gb memory cards on hand. :woohoo:

Wow! That's a lot of pictures. We have a 2 GB memory card already, and my DH thinks if we get two more, we'll be set for our trip. If we need more, we can always get more, right? :goodvibes

You can have your pics transferred from memory cards to CDs at the camera shops in MK and MGM, and at the Kodak Imageworks in Epcot. If you let the CMs download for you, you might have to leave your memory card and come back for it later, depending on how busy they are. Price is $12.99 per CD, limit 120 pics per CD.

All 3 locations also have self-service download kiosks; price at these kiosks is also $12.99 per CD, but I don't think there is a limit, you can fill up the CD with as many pictures as it will hold.

NOTE: How many pics it holds is different for each individual make, model, and resolution setting of digital camera! A CD holds 700mb; to figure out how many of your pics a CD will hold, check to see the average size in mb of your pics and divide that into 700mb.

A more affordable option if you have a car is to have your pics downloaded at an off-site location. All of the local Walgreens stores in the WDW area have 24-hour photo counters which will download your pics to CD for $3.99 per disk, for as many pics as the CD will hold.

WalMart also downloads pics to CD, but their photo counters are not open 24-hours.

Additional memory cards are getting less and less expensive these days, so having plenty of extras can be less expensive than getting your pics downloaded every couple of days. But be careful - don't simply buy the biggest memory card you can find and think you're okay. Instead, buy numerous small memory cards. Carry enough memory on you to take one day's worth of pics, but leave the rest in your hotel safe. That way, if your camera or your camera bag get lost, stolen, or goes for a swim on POTC (It happens!), you will never lose more than one day's worth of your precious vacation pics.
