Tram Doors

Too funny! they got you and you aint getting away. Of course they had to do this because SOMEBODY jumped out to be first on line and probably wound up with some tire marks on their legs

They've been on the trams at Animal Kingdom for about a month. I guess it won't be long for the rest of the trams.

This how the trams at DLR are, and have been for a while.

I was wondering about those doors as well.

I thought I must have just not noticed them in our trips over the last several years because we always use the busses. We rode one this trip at AK. We were discussing with my parents about how many people must have been jumping on and off moving trams or hanging their kids over the edge for them to add doors.

Those DL trams have to carry guests a long way, and often along and/or across busy city streets.

I wonder if they're going to add a tram FP system... :lmao:

^And their will still be jumping on and off the moving trams, even with doors.

Next procedure?

"Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the Magic Kingdom courtesy tram. Please space yourselves out five people per row. Now reach and up and pull down your over the shoulder harness, and push up on it to make sure you're locked in place."

We were at MK one Easter Sunday (must have been 2, 3 years ago now) and saw a woman and school-age boy try to get on the tram as it was driving away... if I recall, the woman got her feet run over or something like that, and the boy was all scraped up. I said to my husband, just wait, they'll create some sort of giant metal cage around the trams to prevent this from happening in the future.

I actually thought the doors weren't a bad idea... I've felt a little nervous on some of those sharp full speed turns they take. I did see some families struggling with their strollers last week at AK, since the doors are sort of spring loaded and keep trying to close while you're loading.

I have seen some guy jump off a tram one night a MK closing. He realized they were at his lot to late and decided he better jump. The tram had only just started pulling away so he wasn't hurt. I will say that the announcer was not happy. LOL.

:lmao: I just sprayed Dr Pepper all over the papers on my desk to keep from hitting the moniter....I just visualized him doing this...I'm sorry but it's fuuny to me (maybe cuz it's past my bedtime):lmao:

last year when we were on the one at AK a guy and his kid tried to hop onto ours after it started moving:scared1:....they stopped as fast they could and made the man back away and wait for the next one

The trams at DLR only got them relatively recently (inside of '10), and it was after an incident where one guest fell asleep and fell out, and a relative of hers jumped out after and was badly injured.

Guess they just thought it wasn't worth it, to have them open, after that, regardless who should or should not be at fault. And now it's reached WDW.

I think I remember reading about a guy who's stroller fell our of the tram at DHS and he tried to go after it and broke his leg in the process
