Training question

I'm either going to do the C25K or the 5K training from another site. BUT, neither of those incorporate strength training in the programs. I thought strength was a big part of training. :confused3 Should I do it on the "rest" days or are you really NOT supposed to do it?

(I did notice that there is strength training on the half marathon program.)
