Is it a good option to take the train from Anaheim to visit Sea World? It looks like the train runs frequently, and takes about 2 hours, but I'm not sure how far away from Sea World the station is.

Has anyone done this? Seems like it could be easier and possibly faster than driving, but would cost a bit more than driving.

Input????

I would drive - it allows more flexibility -

The train is not close and you would need to find transportation to the park.

Depending when you travel, you should be able to get there is less time.

If just going to Sea World it wouldn't be too bad. The commuter trains go about every 30 minutes, but don't run at night. The problem with them is not huge but a slight inconvience. You have to transfer from the Metro in LA to the Coaster in SD, at the Oceanside station. The trains arrive at the same time so you get off one get the ticket for the other and hop on.

The Coaster will drop you off at the Old Town Station. This will be a little more than half the distance to SW as the Amtrak station in downtown SD.

The trains can save some time when the alternative is traffic on I-5. But do take some extra time compared to a car that can move consistently when is involves the cab on each end and mutliple stops along the way.

Amtrak has a bus connection - use the station code SDS to see the schedule/pricing options. For a little more flexibility you could take a taxi from the Old Town station (code OLT), which is only 2 miles from Sea World.
