Is it worth hopping over there from the Polynesian? We're not on the dining plan but like ribs, chicken, etc and seems a nice, inexpensive option. How difficult is it to get there from the Poly and is it worth the trip?

Oh and isn't there some type of outdoor sing along there in the evening? Kids will be 2 1/2 and 4 so that may be fun to do!

PICTURES?????????????????

THANKS!

This one of our DW and I sit down meals every time we are at WDW. The food is sooooooooooooooo goood. And it is not that hare to get to. Hop the monarail from the Poly to Magic Kingdom then take the boat to Fort Wilderness Camp Grounds. Then back the same way you got there. I love the fried chicken the best. And it`s a all you can eat. I have not seen any singing or danceing. But let me know when your going and if I`m there I will try to dance and sing to give you a laugh:rotfl2: DW said don`t even try they will throw me out of there :rotfl:The CMS we have always had have been super.Give it a try you will be happy I`m sure.

We have eaten there several times and the food has always been good. The first time we went, our server taught DS how to eat jello using a straw. For that I am eternally thankful:rolleyes:

From Trails End, you can take a bus within the campground to go to the outdoor movie and campfire. You can buy some food there like popcorn, maybe hot dogs and a smores kit. We have done that a couple times too and the kids think that is fun.

It's good home-cookin', especially if you have big eaters in your group. :thumbsup2

oh and to get there just hop on the monorail to the contemporary and you can take a boat over. its a really nice little ride!

I'm looking at going to Trails End from the Poly as well. I see it's a buffet but that they also have 'to go' items. I'm wondering if DD's wanted to split a pizza or get the chicken dinner off the to go menu can they get it and eat with us or does everyone have to eat off the buffet and pay the set price?

Thanks everyone! Sounds so good. Are the ribs good?? DH isn't too much into fried ANYTHING so not sure how much he'll like the chicken so I'm hoping the ribs are good enough that he'll get his fill. Any other meats there besides ribs and chicken?

Also - so when you arrive by boat, is it right there or do you have to take another bus??

Can you take the boat from WL over to FW? I thought FW was on one of the stops on boat launch "loops". WL, FW, CR, MK, .....

Yes, one of the loops on the boat launches does go between Wilderness Lodge and Ft. Wilderness.

A friend who lives in the WDW vicinity posted on Facebook earlier today that Trail's End has really lost its value on its lunch buffet. You're paying more money for half of what it used to be. She thinks Tusker House as a lunch buffet has become a better value for the money and what is served.

She said the adult price for lunch at Trail's End is $14.99 now, and they took away the sandwich area and the pizza. I think she wanted to see if the offerings are different for dinner, so I believe she's going to go there for dinner at some point to compare.

AM boat loop....WL-CR-FW-WL. PM route(after 3pm) WL-FW-CR-WL.

MK routes MK-WL-MK or MK-FW-MK
No boats from CR to MK, sorry.

THANKS! Will be interesting to see what she thinks about the dinner value. DH thinks $20 for unlimited ribs and chicken is too much but when you figure what you pay for a slab of ribs (not all you can eat) at a BBQ place, I don't think it's to bad at all. IF they are GOOOOD ribs, of course!

We too want to try Trail's End. We are going to be staying at Wyndham Bonett Creek which is in between the Pop Resort and the Carribbean Resort. What is the best way to get to the restaurant? We will have our car but wasn't sure if that would be the easiest or what. Also, do you need reservations for Trail's End? Thanks!

If you are going to FW by car, you will have to park in the main lot then take the bus to that area. I think the area is the Settlement Depot (pls correct if wrong).

Trails End is one of our favorite places to eat at WDW. It is the only request that my brother (who works in food service) makes.

I'm not sure they have ribs. One of the replies I read on the FB post said that ribs were taken off the menu and replaced by pulled pork. I think I'll have to ask her to verify that.

The food was great there. I ate there in 2005. It's probably one of the best values in WDW since it's a buffet.
