Trails End Restaurant

A friend of my wife recommended the breakfast buffet at Trails End. We were thinking of making a reservation. Is it standard breakfast food? What is the best way to get there? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

It is a great buffet! We love it. I think the menu is on allearsnet under resort menus. You can get there by boat from the MK resorts, or by a bus to Fort Wilderness. If you do go by bus, you will have to changes busses and take the internal fort bus to the Settlement where Trails End is.

Looking at the menu, it seems to be standard breakfast food with a few interesting items thrown in the mix. Here is the current menu:
All-You-Care-to-Eat Home-style traditional American favorites: Fresh fruit, Cereals, Sausage, Bacon , Scrambled Eggs, Biscuits and Sausage Gravy, Grits, Oatmeal, Hash, Mickey Mouse-shaped Waffles, Hot Cinnamon Spiced Apples, and Freshly Baked Pastries

I've seen some peoples' reviews and they had this really good french toast thing. I'm not sure if they don't have it anymore, or if it just isn't listed on the menu.

The prices seem to be really fair! $17.03 for adults and $10.64 for kids.

There's a few ways to get there. One way is by taking a bus to Fort Wilderness from DD or any theme park. It drops you off by the front area/parking lot, and then you have to take an internal FW shuttle to the "settlement" area, which is where Trail's End is located. The FW internal shuttle takes forever, like a full 15 minutes. You can also drive and park at the front parking lot of FW, but you'd still need to take the internal shuttle. Or, you can take a boat from Magic Kingdom, which lets you off right near the settlement area.

I prefer getting WDW transport or driving to Wilderness Lodge, and then taking the 3/4 mile nature trail to FW. The nature trail ends almost right in front of the settlement area of FW where Trail's End is. It's a very nice, quick walk and the path is paved.

I have breakfast reservations at Trail's End this Saturday. I've never been there before, but I'll have an opinion on the food once I get back Saturday afternoon!

Thank you for the info. Looking into it more we will plan on trying it. How early do the boats start running from MK, this seems like a nice change of pace from the buses, and I think my son would enjoy it. Does the park opening time dictate the boats? Thanks again

It is regular breakfast food, but it is done well. We really love having dinner here, but breakfast isn't bad at all.

The boats that run to/from MK are tired to the park hours and start a while before the park opens. There are also boats that run between CR, WL, and Fort Wilderness that start at 6:45 each morning, so that might add additional options. We love riding the boats on Bay Lake, and find it to be quite beautiful.
