Trail's End lunch or dinner

Anyone eaten lunch or dinner at trail's end? How is the food, I know it's a buffet but was wondering about the taste. It seems to have a good menu and the dinner menu looks really good to us ...and the price is the best I've seen for on property We will have one day we will have to pay for our meals (we are on the dining plan) and I'm think this would be the one for us to pay for if it's any good. Is it a hassle to get to? We are staying at ASMusic and we would either go there for lunch from a park then back to resort to swim for a while or either go to dinner from the resort after swimming.

You're better off going to Trail's End on a day you will be at the Magic Kingdom. You take the boat (look at the overhead signs) from the MK exit. We had lunch there in June and it was just OK. It appears from the menus that they have far more choices for dinner. I agree that the prices are better than most other buffets. It is a nice relaxing boat ride. The restaurant is a short walk from the Fort Wilderness boat dock.

The food was quite good. Don't expect fancy fare... though. When we were there the ribs were really dry, maybe they had an off night. I'm not sure. The chicken was good tho.
And as wdwgoffee mentioned, taking the boat from MK to FW is the best way to go. Unless somehow you end up at WL there is a boat from WL to FW also.

We have eaten there for dinner several times. The food has always been good. I especially love that I can get SWEET tea! (I am a true Southern girl that loves sweet tea!) We had absolutely horrible service during one of our visits but never any complaints about the food.

It's the same fried chicken and ribs they serve next door at the Hoop Dee Doo. They have more options then that though. We have been there twice for dinner, and are going back at the end of August. Everyone in our party liked it alot. The pizza seems very popular. My ds loved it!
