we want to go for dinner after wishes and spectro in early dec. time of w/s is 6/7...TE closes at 9:30...what are my chances of getting there in time for dinner since it is at park closing and busier.?.. i am figuring leaving park by 7;30, allowing for boat wait, 15 mins to get there, maybe wait for table...could be close to 8:30-9 by the time we got seated... do they keep putting things out till 9:30 or would it be old moldy dried out yuckky stuff by 9 or so...last time i tried some thing like this i missed the ps i had at Ohana's so being cautious..hubby loves this place and will be disappointed if he doesn't get to go.

the alternative would be going early, like being there at 4:30 pre w/s after the parade at AK is over which would probably be doable but kind of early for dinner and do not know how packed it would be by the entrance of MK by the time we would get there.we want to see w/s for sure since that is the only day it looks like we can go for the entire trip,( except maybe the sat. before if we are brave enough to face the crowds which means probably not.)

since i don't need ps i could change it for a day we are not going to have a"schedule" that is tight, just trying to alleviate too much potential bus riding.

any ideas???

And I'm kind of curious - I remember reading that if you go right before closing, and get takeout, they pretty much give you as much as you can carry :teeth: . Any confirmation of this? (yeah, like I need to eat as much as I can carry . . .)

I would try to reschedule your meal at TE when you don't have a tight schedule. Unfortunately, you have the boat wait/ride and then a bus or walk to TE.

Have you thought of an alternative .... either eating at the MK, the LLT is nice, or Plaza Restarant, or just counter service.

You also could make PS at a CR restaurant (you can walk to CR after w/s). Lots of posters love Chef Mickey's buffet. Or I recommend to Concourse Steakhouse at CR -- again you can walk from the MK.

T E is kind of a tradition with us so substitution is unacceptable:)

I was more wondering about how good the food would be that late...as it looks i might just change it for our first night when we are making an early night of it and basically going to epcot only for the afternoon so ther would be lots of time.

I can't answer on the food, we always eat there early.

BUT - the boats stop running about 45 minutes after MK closes, so you might not be able to catch the boat back. Then you would have to do buses to TTC and then bus to your resort or car.

We were the last to enter TE one evening about 20 minutes before closing. There was still plenty of food available, all of it was in good condition. We stayed until about 30 minutes past closing. We just let them know when we were finished with a certain part of our meal, such as soup, salad, entrees, dessert. That way they could clean up a section when we finished serving our plates. They did not rush us and were very cordial.

there is also a boat to the cont. that runs till ti think 10-11 or so then monorail as needed.
