Are there any times when traffic is heavy and it is better to take the bus?
Also, are there lines of cars that you have to deal with when entering/exiting the parks?
I'm trying to determine to rent a car for 2 days or the whole visit.
I read that MK parking is at the TTC so the bus may be the better option for those days.

We are going down in May.

Thanks!

I've had to deal with traffic exiting the park when I leave at park closing just after fireworks.

On the way in, not so much.

Honestly, I much prefer the bus- I wouldn't go through the hassle of renting a car for just 2 days of your trip.

As for lines, the most typical is right at park closing, but they usually still go pretty fast and it won't be much different then having to wait for busses and the lines for the resorts. The exception will almost always be Magic Kingdom because of the additional transport from the gates to the TTC.

I would be the exact opposite, I wouldn't want to rely on Disney transportation and the extra time it takes to get between places (especially resort to resort).

If the week from the airport is comparable to two days on site I would get for the week for the just if's. for example leaving Epcot or HS when the park closes. I like just getting in the car to go. Plus twice we had medical emergencies. Once was dental with an unplanned trip to pediatric dentist in Olando. Try doing that in a taxi!
Other times we ran to grocery, water and drinks, cold medicine, sometimes it sits, other times we use daily.
If you watch Hotwire near trip time there are great bargains. We also have sent dh to get the car while we loaded into the ME.
