What is the traffic like from Barstow on I-40 on a Saturday evening or Sunday morning? We are driving in from Oklahoma and looking for the easiest route along with an estimated time.... Thanks...

You would be better off on Saturday evening. On Sunday if you wait too long around noon where 40 merges into I-15 a lot of people will be returning from Las Vegas. It could be about 1:45 from there, but the merge can be ugly and the traffic thicker until you drop into LA and add in 30 minutes or more.

I've usually done I-15 to CA60 to CA57 and exit on Katella to get over to the resort.

You'll definitely want to do Saturday! I live right off the 15 freeway, and only 30 minutes from Barstow, and we take the I-15 South to Disneyland. Sunday can be miserable going South because the traffic from everyone leaving Las Vegas is massive and there is usually delays. On weekends the traffic on the 15 will be heavy no matter what, because it's the major link between Southern California and Vegas. But do try to aim for Saturday since the majority of traffic will be taking the opposite direction -15North- to Vegas.

Don't do it on a Sunday afternoon or evening or you are asking for trouble! Nothing like stop-and-go, bumper-to-bumper traffic in the middle of the desert with nothing else around to convince you you made a horrible mistake. Been there, done that. :cool2:

Yep, you gotta beat the Vegas-checkout-at-11am crowd. Sunday morning has been ok in my experience, but don't dally with your lunch and gas stops!
