Trading TS credit for CS credit?

Can this be done? Has anyone did this before, or has anyone tried and was not able to?

Usually the only time you can use a TS credit for a CS meal is during free dining.
At least that is what is reported.

I do know that you can trade a CS for 3 snacks. This is done frequently.

When DS and I were at WDW in January, we had the DxDP. There were a couple of times we opted to grab CS and had no issue using our credits for CS. I don't know if the credits are treated differently between the regular DDP and DxDP.

Used to be for free dining they would announce that officially you could do that trade, and they'd throw in some extras, like an extra snack or merchandise. This is no longer done, as the free dining is most of the year now and isn't swamping the restaurants like it used to. Some CS restaurants might still do the trade "unofficially" but some might not. You can also ask if your lobby concierge can convert your TS credits into CS credits. Where the trade is allowed, it's now a one for one trade, no extras.

On the deluxe dining plan, all credits are interchangeable for TS or CS, so the above applies only to the regular plan.

Most if not all of the trading of CS credits for multiple snacks appears to be done at resorts. It isn't for sure you'll be able to do this at a park CS, and you won't be able to do it in a store like the Main Street Confectionary as they can't accept a CS credit at all.

It was my understanding that during the first year or so of free dining too many people, who normally never ate TS, didn't know that you needed ADRs and they complained that they couldn't eat. So Disney traded a TS for a CS and gave you like a tote bag or maybe another snack.

I think now they get the word out enough that this isn't the case anymore.

The only place I ahve been able to trade Ts to CS was at the resort we were staying and it's 1 ts for 1 cs. totally not worth it
