I'd like to get some inexpensive pins for trading before I go in December and wondered if anyone knew any where besides ebay to look?

THANKS!!!!

Not to be the bearer of bad news, but disney direct was having a huge sale about two weeks ago.

Watch Disney Direct they may put some back up on sale...at least I am crossing my fingers that they do!

Check ebay (I know I know) but AVOID anything that says Sedesma or From Spain...they are legit pins but some CM's refuse to take them as traders...you shuoldn't be paying more than $3 a piece for traders

disneydeals.com sometimes has some as well

it is however a ebay store. they have been running some lots of pins, you get like 4 alike which makes them great for trading, $10-12 (it is an auction)
plus $5 for shipping, not a great price but better than at disney normal prices. plus if you purchase more than 1 lot the shipping is cheaper on the additional ones

I followed a link from an e-bay auction to this seller's website: pinscheap.com. He offers lots of pins for $1.99 each plus $3.95 shipping! I ordered 40 pins for my 4 children to share. They are duplicates of the same few pins, however, since they will only be trading them away, it really doesn't matter. Just go to the website and fill out a small form with your e-mail address and let him know how many pins you're looking for and he'll contact you with what he has available. It only took about a week for me to receive my batch of pins.

I always wonder, and I hope someone can tell me - how can they sell pins that cheap? I mean, where do you suppose they can buy them for so little that they can make a profit like that?

Well, Character Warehouse and Character Premiere often have discontinued pins, cheap. Maybe this guy gets them from there, or from whoever supplies Character Warehouse and Character Premiere. I know that one of the public service clubs (Rotaries, maybe?) gets discontinued stuff and does a fundraising auction in the town of Celebration each year; that could be one source.

harval@webtv.net sells pins for $2.50. They are regular pins, rather than the ones like pinscheap. If you prefer a batch where you might want to keep some and trade some I would really recomend him. I have purchased from him several times, now. I have some spare lanyards, if you would like one. Just stitch and sorceror Mickey from last year. I am not a dealer, just a trader who believes "what comes around...goes around!"

The pins from Spain can be purchased direct from the Spain seller for pretty cheap. Which is where I am guessing pinscheap is buying his.
$2 a pin is pretty cheap though. Those are a lesser quality pin than a regular park pin. But often not any less desirable or tradeable.
Some of the Disney outlets sell a limited stylke of pins at a reduced price. (And more at full price.) I think even their price is half off. It's either $3 - $4 each.
You may even want visit your local post office. They possibly have Disney postage stamp pins for $4 each.
The best bet has already been mentioned -- weait for a good pin sale from Disney Direct. Keep your eyes open for pin sales there.

We recently purchased some pins for our children to trade during our WDW vacation from mousepinsonline.(com) We paid $2.00 per pin. None of the pins were Sedesma or the old EuroDisney pins. We didn't encounter any problems what so ever trading them. I would recommend them. I can't see paying $2.50 or $3.00 for a Disney pin, you're going to trade anyway, when you can get it cheaper. The more you can save the longer you can vacation.

Tnkbel, the total shipping for all 40 pins was only $3.95. I'm not sure how they can sell them so cheap, but I remember two years ago when our Disney Store still sold pins, my husband bought a bunch of them on clearance for only a few dollars each. And it doesn't matter that they're all the same pin because you trade them away anyway!

We are leaving next week so it is really too late to get them shipped to us and my daughter and son want to pin trade - is there someplace around disney where you can buy pins inexpensive??

angie

We bought about 8 pins @ $3ish and then traded them at Disney. My DD6 came home with about 17 pins on her 1st trip....

Unfortunately there's really no cheap pins you can get from disney. The best option for you is to buy the starter sets that they sell in the parks. They will run you between $5~$6/pin.

And although I have no problem with people getting cheap pins to be traded with CMs please refrain from trading sedesma/spain pins. They are made out of plastic and do not have disney copyright on the back of it. According to disney rule CMs are NOT supposed to accept them for trade.
However, there are some inconsistencies with CMs in the park, some will take it and some will not. I feel bad if there are kids who traded for them from a CM lanyard only to find out that they cannot trade them back later on.

I think someone has posted disney's pin trading rule on a previous post.

Have fun trading!!!

It is stated on mousepinsonline.com that all of the pins are Disney "Propins". What are Propins? They don't look like that same quality pins that I got from Disney. Please let me know.

DisneyDeals is still having lots of pins up for auction. I bought a bunch there.

I just bought 4 packages of batteries that had Disney pins enclosed. I was hoping to use them as traders but my kids love them and won't give them up! I believe that they are Energizer batteries. You might want to look in your local grocery store or pharmacy and see if there are any available.
