I'm a newbie, so please excuse my ignorance...
We are trading points through II and have just recieved confirmation of our trip Dec. 2-9. We'll be staying in a 1 bedroom at SSR. I was told by II that DVC will not be able to see my reservation until 2 weeks prior to our arrival. I'm a little bit of a vacation planner freak (I will spend hours upon hours planning this trip) and it makes me a little nervous that they won't see my reservation until that close to our arrival. Is this normal and should I be concerned? With them not being able to see our reservation, will I still be able to buy the meal plan ahead of time or do I do that when we get down there? Any advice would be awesome. We are so excited and it's still over 10 months away!!

You can still try calling the resort with the confirmation number provided by II and see if perhaps you are already in the system.

You will be able to add the dining plan even at 2 weeks prior, so don't worry about that. The only restriction is that you could not add it at check-in. You won't need to pay for it until arrival though.

I wouldn't worry about having a reservation though, since you do have your confirmation from II.

My understanding is you can buy the meal plan but I haven't tried myself and if you can, you won't be able to do so on arrival, it must be done in advance. Your confirmation should have the DVC reservation number on it and the phone number to call. You can use that number for requests, questions and to pay your extra $95 fee which is due 48 hrs prior to arrival. Since DVC has direct access to the II computer system, I'm sure they can check further if they need to. I am a DVC member and also traded in several times so feel free to ask any questions you want either publicly or privately.

BTW, DVC must have deposited quite a few SSR 1 BR units for that week from what I saw online. Congrats and enjoy.
