I want to try and make it over to Trader Sam's for a drink or two next time I visit, but was wondering if there is still a wait to get in? Thanks in advance.

We were there in mid Sept on a Friday night. Had no problem getting in. Enjoyed the inside area and then went to the outside area. Cant miss the Spikey Pineapple.

Was there 2 weeks ago on a Sat night. At about 6pm the wait was an hour. When we left around 8:30 the wait was 3 hours. check in as soon as you think you are interested in going and get your name on a list.

We tried to get in Saturday Oct 3rd around 6 and it had an hour wait. We were told we could sit outside at the bar while we waited but we decided not to wait.
Wish we could have seen it though!

We're planning to go in December by wouldn't make it there until 10 or 10:30p on a Wednesday night, so I'm hoping that results in lesser wait times for us. It looks awesome! I was so sad we had missed it in June but we ran out of time.

Count me in as curious. We are staying at the Polynesian and want to try it. Does weekends vs. mid-week make a difference? (we'll be there 11/27-12/1)

Does the same no-kids after 8pm apply to the patio as well?

We walked right in and sat down twice on our June trip as a party of two. Both times were probably around 8 or 9 if my memory serves (which it very well may not).

DH & I have an early ADR at Ohana on a Tuesday evening during the first week of Dec. We are going to try to hit Trader Sam's right at 4 p.m. before our dinner. Hopefully, we will be able to get right in before dinner.

Weekends vs Mid Week is a big difference. Had not much issue during week but weekends (especially during F&W) are busy. As for the policy I believe it does as we saw kids run out of there about 8pm when we were on the patio.

Good info wvaspartan. I'll make sure NOT to start waiting at a time that might cause us to be "run off" shortly after we are seated.

Hoping to take the family on Sunday 4/24 for birthday drinks...including 2 kids. Plan to get there early before our dinner at Kona.

The rule does NOT extend to the Pineapple Lanai. If you have children they are always welcome there. Sat out there with my sister, our hubbies and her 2 month old in August after 8pm and it was definitely allowed.
