Trader Joe's Cookie Butter!

Can someone who has a jar of it do me a favor? Can you check the label for any warning of contains/may contain peanuts/tree nuts? I would love to try this but there is no point of me going to buy some if its not safe for my son. Thanks!

If you search for it on Amazon, you can see photos of the label. It does say that it may contain traces of tree nuts.

I have a jar of the Biscoff spread here, which is a very similar product. Not exactly the same, so I don't think the TJ's product is the Biscoff rebranded. Anyhow, the label doesn't mention nuts, just wheat/soy ingredients, and that it's Vegan. No nut-safe statement, but no warning either. I buy the Biscoff spread at WalMart for about the same price as the TJ's cookie butter.

You could check Biscoff's website (www.biscoff.com) - maybe they'll have more info?

Oh, and for you, or any other cookie butter fans out there - try stirring a spoonful into oatmeal. Yummy! =)

New TJ's in Central Texas opened 2 weeks ago, we were there yesterday and people had multiple jars of the cookie butter in their carts. We skipped it, I don't need another sweet TJ's addiction, I already have too many. :)

We did notice that many of our "favorite" items were not on the shelves, the label was there but no product. We were talking to one of the employees and he was saying how when they open a new store the folks that have spent possibly years without their favorite TJ products come out in force and clear the shelves. I am now waiting on a new shipment of Gummy Tummy Penguines:lmao:

We didn't like the TJ's Cookie Butter, but we are HOOKED on Biscoff spread. First got hooked about 4 years ago, living in Europe. It was invented (reportedly) by a Dutch college student as part of a game show....he took the Lotus/Biscoff cookies and tried to make them like Nutella. Now, speculoos is a flavor in Europe for chocolate, cereal (oh yeah! Little speculoos filled crunchies that get soft in milk) and drinks.

if you haven't had the crunchy Biscoff, you are truly missing out.

I use it a lot for baking....wherever a recipe says peanut butter (cookies, frosting, cake) I put in speculoos. Biscoff has a website with all sorts of recipes on it.

My local grocery stores carry it, but I'm near a military base and that could be why. Most folks that have been stationed in Europe know about speculoos.

Also try World Market for it. And Meijer, if you have those.

I want to try this but my TJ's got destroyed by Sandy..isn't reopening until at least February. Might have to go to another one!

I bought a jar the other day and I am in LOVE!!!!! This stuff is amazing. I ran over there this morning to get a few more jars and took one into work and have created monsters as they all loved it too.
