I thought I read somewhere that you can apply your PH towards the price of an AP. Does anyone know about that? I bought 5 day PHPs and now I'm wishing I bought AP so we could spend more time in the parks. I'm not that interested in the water parks.

Do you get your money back out of the PHP dollar for dollar towards the AP?

Hi there, I just did that very thing last week, after using 4 days of a 5 day park hopper I traded it in for AP for a cost of 119. more than I paid for the 5 day.
they said you must make the change before the PHP is used up or seven days from first use which ever comes first.

You will get back full credit for what you paid for the ticket as long as:

1) you do it within 7 days of first use of the pass or before the pass is used up, whichever comes first

and
2) you purchased the ticket from Disney. If the ticket was purchased from an outside source (AAA, Ticketmania, etc) your credit will be less than what you actually paid as Disney will only give you credit for the wholesale price they sold the ticket to the outside agency at, not what you paid them for it.

That's what I did. I bought my tickets through Connections. Do you know what the wholesale price is, or does it vary.

I sent WDW an email asking about this. I guess I will have to find out what the wholesale price is and if its worth it.

I just asked this over at the Budget Board...does anyone know what value Disney places on the 7 day PHP passes bought from an outside source(specifically, Paramount)? I am thinking about an upgrade, but I would really like to have a rough estimate of the costs in my head...

Thanks!

Does anyone know the trade in value of a 5 day PHP bought through Connections?

I just reserved CBR for $89 per night (King room) for Dec 5-7. I need to figure out if its really worth it for me to upgrade. I'm not sure I want to schedule my 2004 trip before the Christmas season... lots of aspects to ponder ;)

I thought you can only trade a PHP for the premuim annual pass. Is that true. I would love to trade my 5day php with 4 pluses for a regular AP. Does any one know? Can I apply my 5 day PHP and my DC discount towards an AP?

from what I understand, you can upgrade to a regular AP as long as none of the "plus" options have been used....

You can upgrade that PHP to a regular AP if
1) the ticket is wholly unused or
2) you have not yet used any of the plus options and upgrade within 7 days of first use or
3) the first use of the ticket has been more than 7 days prior to upgrading (you'll only get credit for unused major park days, not for the whole ticket).

Keep in mind that you will be surrendering 4 plus options worth more than $120 in water park admissions and getting nothing in return for them as plusses carry no dollar value towards the upgrade.

Yes, you can apply your DC discount towards the upgraded AP.

Disney's wholesale prices generally run 10-12% below what you pay to the independent wholesaler but it does vary as some companies add a higher profit margin than others.
