Tracey's wedding weight loss attempt (comments welcome & needed!!)

I totally understand your scale woes! Some days I want to throw mine out the window!

I ALMOST booked a flight to London the other day. Was $199 r/t from Phoenix. But by the time I convinced myself it was OK, it was gone. UGH!! And it would have been over DDs spring break, too! Next time I just need to do it & not think!

Your food & exercise look great, so the scale will eventually cooperate, but so hard to keep up the good job when it seems in vain.

hang in there & have a GREAT weekend!!
:grouphug:

Thanks ladies :grouphug:

Amy - the nurse told me to eat more carbs because off the exercise i'm doing!!! the only time i really lost a lot of weight was doing low carb, but i dont like to think i have to deny my body any kind of food & i know i would not have the energy to work out without them!!
i've been told by the nurse to have less than 5gm's fat per 100gm's & less than 2 gm's of sugar & i've pretty much followed that rule, at the start it worked & the weight was coming off, but then after WDW after losing the 3lb's i gained their its just stuck:confused3
the red pepper/ coconut dish was Thai & yummy :)

Julie - thats such a shame you missed the flight deal :(

Soooo Saturday:
A very skinny collegue at work told me that i need to watch calorie intake as the low fat & sugar rule could still give high calories - so today i tried to keep it around 1000-1500 - low i know but i do need to lose!!! Here are my rough estimates!

b/fast - cereal, decaf earl grey - 250 cals
lunch - two crumpets with LF cheese & an organic cereal bar - 200 cals (not including the bar)
dinner - pork, boiled potatoes & mushroom/red pepper orzo - something i'd not tried before but nice - like risotto! - 580 cals
LF yogurt - 100 cals

most of the meals were low sugar/fat too.
Total 1130 cals (Might have a glass of WW red wine later 80 cals)

Exercise
walked into town this morning with DD
walked around local lake this afternoon with DH - FREEZING!!!

I didnt do the gym as i felt quite weak & tired yesterday & i slept in till
10am today :cloud9:
just hope i'm not coming down with anything!!

Sorry to hear the scale isn't cooperating. I know that feeling all too well! :( The good news is that you're holding steady. That's better than a gain, right? ;)

Keep up the good work, Tracey! I think you are doing a wonderful job!:cheer2:

I agree with Tracy, staying the same is better than a gain. However, the scale sucks big time and feel free to stomp on it and call it filthy names!! You may just be adjusting to the last loss you had. There never seems to be any rhyme or reason when it comes to the female body and weight loss. You are doing really well with your food and exercise. Keep that up!

Dh and I froze our buns off walking around outside Saturday afternoon too!

Have a good Sunday and don't get discouraged. You are doing so well!:thumbsup2 :grouphug:

thanks Tracy & Amy :)
I have been very down about the weight loss, i feel i'm doing everything right but the scale says i'm not - was even considering leaving the journals! but i'm gonna keep going, & i appreciate & need the support i get here - so thankyou all my wish buddies :grouphug:

sunday
slept in till 10 am again!!!

b/fast - cereal 250 cals
lunch - GFY lasagne with homemade fries - 500 cals
dinner - 2 x cheese & ham rolls, LF yogurt - guessing about 500 cals!!

Went to the gym - 600 cals

We have a severe extreme weather warning for tonight/tomorrow - snow coming from Russia!! Looks like DH will be gritting all night :(

Hope you are all enjoying super bowl sunday :)

YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO LEAVE WISH UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!!

Seriously, we'd miss you too much. Its a struggle and not a very fun one, but you can do it. Don't just look at the total number lost on the scale, think about what that scale would say if you hadn't worked this hard. Because losing is beyond hard, gaining is beyond easy! Just hang in there, we are all in this together. :grouphug: :flower3: :goodvibes

I agree with Amy, stick with it! Or else I will have to take a detour to Nottingham next time I am in the UK and track you down! ;)

My colleague is stuck in London with all the snow you guys have been getting. Yikes!

Counting calories can be very eye opening. I know I eat pretty healthy, but a lot of times I eat TOO MUCH healthy stuff, and my calories were way out of whack. You will get to where you need to be, just keep chugging along. We're all in this together! :grouphug:

Amy - remind me not to get you angry ;)
Amy (lovinaz) - i'm tempted to dissapear so you come visit ;) that would be cool!!

The snow has arrived!!!
AND is still coming! we've had about 5 inch today, goodness knows what we'll wake up to in the morning!!
Dh went grittting at 5.15pm yesterday & got in a 6.30am this morning!!

heres hoping school is closed tomorrow & i get a day off :)

Monday - no exercise, except a snowball fight with DD, neighbour & her DD!!

b/fast - cereal (250 cals)
snack - banana - did you know there are 95 cals in a banana!!!
lunch - chk/bacon pasta salad, lf yogurt, strawberries (500 cals)
dinner - wholeweat pasta with tuna & tinned tomatoes, lf cheese (480 cals)

The cals are rough estimates so i will round it up to about 1400 for the day.

I did an online thing that tells you your resting metobolic rate depending on age, height & weight & mine is 1500 cals, its pretty hard to keep it under!! so know wonder i havnt been losing - heres hoping this makes a difference!

Dh just took a pic outside:

Tracey,

I agree with Amy and Amy....Under no circumstances are you allowed to leave the WISH journals! We would miss you too much and we need you here!:grouphug:

I can't believe how much snow you have!:scared: Here's hoping you get a day off school tomorrow...Is Gary gritting tonight? Sending some pixiedust: for safe travels.

I hope you have a great evening!

Tracey, yikes, winter has arrived for you! I was watching the news last night and London made the news here with a 30 mile long traffic jam due to the snow! I know you aren't in London but I had to tell dh that I have a friend in England living that nightmare of snow! Hope you got the day off, that is the one advantage to snow!

Stay warm and stay off the roads, driving on snow is dangerous if you aren't used to it (and everybody else isn't either).

Hello from snowy England!!! :wave2:

Even though we have the reputation for being cold we dont actually get that much snow!! Lots of ice & rain but not snow, its the most we've had in 20 yrs! & they say its the coldest winter in 13yrs!

They shut over 70 schools in our area.....except mine & DD's! so i did the school run this morning & a 20 min journey took 45mins....i was lucky as i'm pretty close to where i work, many of the teachers live far away, i arrived at school & was the only member of staff in the block!! two yr 3 classes, two yr 6 & one year four :crazy2:
The head came down later & sent help! Sooo i had to take the class on my own again till the teacher arrived at 10.30am, Then took the other class on my own as that teacher went on a course!!!
And Friday i'm teaching FRENCH as that teacher is swaning off to Sri Lanka!! (jammy thing!) I want teachers pay!!! being as i'm doing the job half the time lately!!

The roads are awefull, DH isnt on call but he had to go in at 5am this morning to releave the drivers who'd been out all night & he's in at 5am tomorrow too...think of the money eh!!!
So i didnt get my day off, & more snow is forcast in a couple of days.

They are predicting a hot summer though :rotfl: ha ha that'll make a change from all the rain from the last two summers!!

ok now i've had my work/weather moan onto business

Tuesday
b/fast - cereal
snack - forgot my banana, so had a mini cake!
lunch - prawn salad, yogurt, strawberries
snack - two crispbreads with cheese/onion filler
dinner - boiled potatoes, ranch salad, fish in chille/lime breadcrumbs

comes to about 1400 cals for the day

went to gym - 600 cals

off for a nice warm bath :)

OMG THE TAG FAIRY HAS BEEN, WOOHOO, I HAVE WAITED SOO LONG FOR THIS :)

:cool1: :cheer2: pixiedust: :hyper:

Congrats on getting tagged! :goodvibes

Hopefully the weather clears up for you soon, I'm sure all the snow is wreaking havoc for everyone!

I was thinking that maybe if you don't start seeing results with your calorie counting that you should go back to the basics with food (plain grilled chicken breast, etc) and track everything on fitday or something. That way you will know 100% what your calories are instead of guessing. Something to try if your new method doesn't work!

Did you get both those tags at the same time. Cause I don't remember eithe one. In any case, congrats on getting tagged!

Your food looks good, sorry you didn't get a snow day.

And you do need teacher's pay!::yes::

Congrats on the new tags, Tracey!!!:cheer2:

I can't believe they didn't close school for you yesterday! Your weather has been all over the news here. I hope the weather improves out that way soon. pixiedust:

Have a great day!

Hope you are surviving your snow storm! Did you maybe score a snowday today?

Amy - yes i got both tags :) they are both comments relating to my TR :)

Amy (lovinaz) - i'm not guessing the calories, i just round them up to the nearest 50 or 100 :) thanks for the idea, its definatly worth considering if i'm still struggling although the thought of it fills me with dread!!!

Tracy - read on.... ;)

Wednesday
schools open :( it was very icy on the roads, but made it their in one piece, heavy snow forcast for Thursday :scared:

b/fast - cereal
snack - banana, hot cross bun (teacher bought that for me!)
lunch - 2 slices wholemeal bread with lf cheese/onion filler, lf yogurt, cherries
dinner - med baked potato, with lf cheese, 2 lf sausages & veg in sausage casserole mix (the mix was a powder sachet suprisingly high in cals!)
small glass of WW wine
total cals 1200

after lunch i came over feeling really sick & friends in the staff room said i went white, i wasnt sick but the queasy stomach stayed with me & i felt light headed & kinda woosy!!!
Went to bed not feeling any better :(

Thursday
had about 5 inch of snow overnight!! Woke up still feeling ill, DD got a text about 7.30am saying her school was shut, i text the acting head saying i was ill but if they were struggling i'd try & make it in, got a call back about
8.15am saying my school was shut too :cool1: :cheer2: (i havnt got the energy to jump for joy!!)

so we finally get our snow day - but i feel horrid!!! went back to bed, DD woke me at 11am as grandad was on the phone.
so now i'm sat in my pj's with the energy of a low energy light bulb!!

doubt i'll make the gym even if the roads do clear!

so far:
b/fast - LF croissant
snack - earl grey with one choccy biscuit!! (made by my DD  )

Yeah Tracey!!!:cheer2: I'm glad that school was closed for you today!:goodvibes I'm sorry that you're not feeling well though. :( I hope you're feeling better soon and I hope it warms up and stops snowing out your way!:beach:
