Tracey's wedding weight loss attempt (comments welcome & needed!!)

Please somebody give me a cyber boot up the a$$ & make me go!!!!!
Hmm, I must be missing that smilie!!! They need one though!

Sometimes you just have to drag yourself to the gym. You will be happy you did! And usually doing that a couple times is all it takes to get you back into the groove. You can do it!!!

Maybe try rewarding yourself with a little something. A new CD, some flowers, a cup of coffee from a Starbucks, just something you really want thats not too expensive as a reward IF you go work out. I am saying that if I work out four times this week I will go and buy a book I have been wanting. So we'll see, so far I have worked out three times so I almost there!

I think once you go and get through the door you will be glad you did, feel great and that will actually be the greatest reward. But sometimes we just need a little extra boost! When Gary gets home tonight just get up and go right then because if you continue to put it off (the old "I'll go in a half hour" routine") you probably won't. So get your workout gear on, your gym bag packed and be ready for him to get home so you can GO !!! You can do it! Also, does your gym have a hot tub? On colder days/nights that used to help me get out the door, knowing that I could soak in the hot tub after my workout.

Well i didnt get to the gym :(
But it really wasnt safe to go out!!
We have had severe gales all day, 10 people died, 15 lorries overturned, loads of trees uprooted due to the ground being so soft fom all the rain we've had!!!!

b/fast atkins bar, earl grey
lunch - 4 rye crspbreads with cheese & onion sandwich filler, earl grey, yogurt & small choc bar
dinner - bacon,m/room & tomato omlette, water, small bag of chocolate buttons

My meals arnt too bad, but i really need to stop eating the chocolate!!
I WILL GO TO THE GYMTOMORROW!

Ok, Tracey, I'm holding you to your promise of gym time tomorrow (or probably today your time by now!). I am going to promise to make it as well. Feel like it or not, rain,(or snow in my case - AGAIN!), WE WILL GO!!!!!

Hope Leanne is really on the mend! Not fun to be ill and not easy to feel better with yucky weather.

Hang in there. Hopefully your arctic blast won't be so bad, but anything is probably a nice change from rain, rain, rain.

Please be careful out there, Tracey! That sounds like some intense weather that you are having..... Maybe we should start a countdown to spring!:cool1:

I will do a workout tomorrow if you will..... Come on, Tracey! We CAN do it! We'll both feel better afterwards!

Hope your DD continues to feel better.... My DD4 isn't feeling well today either. She is still running around getting in to stuff though!:cutie:

Have a great Friday!:goodvibes

I heard about your weather on the news (My favorite radio station carries BBC world news at the time I am picking kids up from school.) Truly amazing! I'm glad to hear you did not go out in that. Hopefully, the weather has calmed down though and you can get to the gym tonight. Here's :wizard: that Leanne fills better soon.

Throw out the Chocolate!

Ok, Tracey, my gym bag is in the car for when I finish running errands. And it IS coming out to go into the gym! Where is yours??? This WILL happen today!! C'mon, we can do this!!!! You, too, Tracy!

So, the big question - did you get to the gym?!????!?!?

Wow, you did the right thing staying home. How scary and not worth the risk. They gym isn't going anywhere so you can go when its safe to venture out! I hope Leanne is better and that your weather improves! Have a great weekend! Oh and as for the chocolate, maybe get some fat free, sugar free chocolate pudding. That can help with the cravings without blowing the diet. We women NEED our chocolate!

Oh goldcupmum i really wish i'd managed to get online yesterday, i think your motivation would have made me go.....
I suppose from that you can tell i didnt!!:sad2:
Thankyou so much for trying though & i hope you got their :)

Cacruisin - your weather was on our news too!!! Your California way right??

lovinaz, Amy & Tracy - thanks for being so supportive, it really does help & i know i'm almost out of this rut i've been stuck in, looking back I really think its due to when TOM approachs, i have meds for when it arrives but i think i may need something for the PMT too!
I think that maybe why i've craved chocolate so much too!!!
Dont you just love TOM :headache:

I'm starting a fresh on Monday, i think with DD being unwell, the weather (the worst storms in almaost 20 years!!), & TOM sneaking up, i really wasnt in the right frame mentally or physically.
So when my routine is back to normal next week, i'm getting straight back into things :goodvibes

WI yesterday, no gain & no loss either - i'm happy with that for this week as food hasnt been great, but i do need to see a loss soon!
I cheated & WI the day before & i had a 3lb gain showing but that was the day before TOM arrived & it wasnt showing on 'official' WI

Food yesterday
b/fast - atkins bar, earl grey
snack - low sugar hot choc drink
lunch - chinese chk salad, strawberry yogurt
dinner - fries with cheese & mayo on top, 2 1/2 glasses of African red wine (which was lovely & reminded me of Boma :)) &...some chocolates :(

DD went back to school yesterday :dance3:
No arctic blast yet (fingers crossed!)

Off to see what you've all been up to :)

Ok i need some advice!

I'm thinking about changing my gym
The one i go to now is pretty basic, i joined because a work collegue asked me to go with her & i thought it would be nice to have someone to train with. Well she only went a few times & i've been going on my own since about August!!
Its at our local leisure centre, it has an old pool thats open to the public, has a lot of kids & the adult only swims are times i cant get. So i dont sim there.
The gym is small, membership is cheap £22.50 per month ($45 - $50) i get a corporate discount. & its in walking distance.

I used to be at another gym that was lovely, lots of equipment, classes, pool, steam room, sauna all included in cost.
Plus a hairdressers, salon & lovely restaurant with healthy food!
It costs about double of the one i'm in now, maybe more (i need to check prices & see if i can get any discount their) & i have to drive their.

I'm seriously considering re-joining the other one, as i think it may make me go more!
What do you think???????????????

The other gym sounds wonderful! Would the extra cost maybe help give you the 'guilties' and get you to go more? The old - gee, I'm paying for this, I've got to use it - syndrome??

Sorry you didn't make it yesterday, I almost didn't! But every day is a new day to begin again and get back on track!

Hope your weather is better and you're having a good weekend. So far, we're missing a lot of the snow this time - only about 3" so far.

I can tell you from experience that you would not regret spending the extra money on the new gym (assuming it is within your budget). I changed gyms last year, and the new one cost 3x as much as the old one, but I liked the atmosphere and that alone makes it easier to go. Sounds like the new gym would have more variety which will keep you from getting bored. Let us know what you decide!

Great news that you didn't gain, you will start to lose once you get back into your routine, just hang in there!

  Glad DD is feeling better and back at school. Here's :wizard: that the arctic blast doesn't materialize for you too.

If you are not going to the old gym, then the fact that it is walking distance doesn't matter. Were you going more often to the other gym? Do you like the people/atmosphere at the other gym? Can you get a day pass to check it out? If you like it there (not just all "beautiful size 0 people) then go for it. Definitely ask about a discount (corporate, returning member, etc). It never hurts to ask.

Yes, CA is making the news too. Heard that price of oranges could go as high as $3-4/ pound. The loss of crops is really sad. The fruit trees can take one night of freezing temps, but not night after night, the way it has been. The farmers have insurance to cover their losses, but the migrant workers don't, and now they have no work.

Thanks for the advice everone :)
It looks like the newer gym is winning the vote.
I used to go there & its not full of 'beautifu' peple! I used to go about 2-3 years ago when i used to work evenings & wekends, so i spent my days their, not sure what evenings & weekends are like (that is when i would have to go now)
I called them today & i can get corporate membership, it would be £40 per month compared to the £22.50 i pay now - less than i thought. Also called my friend & i think she may join too, that would be great to have someone to go with :) so gonna wait till she gets back to me.

Food today
b/fast - earl grey
lunch - cheese & ham roll, strawberry yogurt, small muffin
dinner - chicken curry with rice, i can of cider, half a choc bar (shared it with Gary - thats an improvement if only a small one!!)

Watched American Idol last night I LOVE THAT SHOW :) we have been waiting forever for it to come on, they show it on fridays i think it shows on wednesdays in the US, so if any of you guys watch it PLEASE dont give anything away :)

That is great that your friend may join the gym with you. It is always good to have a buddy. Good job sharing the chocolate bar. Every little step helps. :thumbsup2 We are watching American Idol for the first time this year (with the kids), but we TiVo it and watch on the weekends (no TV during the week for the kiddos).

Anna - Thats one good thing about AI being shown on a Friday here no work/school next day :)

Poor Gary had to go gritting last night, he left at 11pm & didnt get in till
5.30am!!! & i think hes coming down with DD's bug! (although i'm secretly relieved its not me, although theres time yet!). Hes out again tonight too!
The only good thing is that the extra hours hes earnt means i might finally get that new bathroom door i have been waiting months for!!

Mum & Dad came back from Spain today, they have lovely tans & have booked an apartment whilst they were out their for a month next January!

They bought me a bottle of malibu & 3 limited edition wdw plates from a spanish car boot sale :)
I've never had a wdw present from Spain!!!!

My grandad is going in hospital on Tuesday for a procedure to check his heart & arterys they put a camera on a thread from his groin & all around his heart area, hes only in for the day, but i'm still worried, we are very close & hes my only living grandparent (i lost my grandmother - his wife - 2 years ago & it was a big shock - her going so quick & unexpected - & how i felt as i'd never lost anyone close to me before then). So please keep everything crossed for him :)

Food
b/fast - croissant, 2 cups of earl grey (decaf)
lunch - 3 crispbreads with cheese & onion filler on, strawberry mouse, earl grey
dinner - not had yet, might do pasta

Plan for this week
Monday - work & scrapbook class
Tues - work & GYM, maybe cardclass too
wed - work & relax at home
thurs - work & relax
Fri - work & GYM
Weekend - make a start on re-decorating the kitchen

Hoping my friend will get back to me in the next day or two about the new gym - fingers crossed she doesnt back, it would be great to have her to train with, we have such a laugh, we met in hospital giving birth!!!
I've told her to come on wish as she is doing WW core diet.
Hope everyone had a great weekend. :goodvibes

Sounds like you have a great plan for the week! I think you should just invite yourself to go to Spain with your parents next year!

I hope all goes well for your grandfather. Sounds like a routine procedure, I'm sure everything will go as planned! :wizard:

Having a workout buddy is great, I hope your friend joins. I was glad I had my workout buddy today, she got me to go to the exercise class I was going to skip this morning!!

Hi Tracey~

I like the idea of joining a new gym....:goodvibes A change in scenery, people, and workout equipment might be just what you need to jumpstart your workouts. :yay: I hope your friend gets back to you soon.:goodvibes Let us know what you decide.

Your week ahead looks great, Tracey! Hope your DH feels better soon.... Sending get well :wizard: for him and stay healthy :wizard: for you.

How is the weather? Has it calmed down yet?

Have a great week!:cool1:

Tracey, I will really keep you grandpa in my prayers, I know he is very special to you. It gets scary as they get older but thankfully medical advances can do so much now and "old" isn't what it used to be! Also, I would switch gyms. That extra money is money well spent if you work out more. Look at it as an investment into your good health and well being. I think its great you stayed the same on the scale, TOM alone can make that not happen so you did very well. Glad your dd is better too, that will help you start fresh and have a great week! Here's to your fresh start, you can do it!:cheer2:
