Does anyone have any experience with Trac Phone reception in the parks? Due to some recent issues that have cropped up for my husband at work, it looks like I'll be taking the kids to WDW by myself in June. I have an iPhone but was looking at picking up a Trac Phone for the big kids (13yo by the time of trip) to carry in their pack. Before I put the money out, I am curious if any of you have personal experience with recption in the parks.
I've used TracFone for the last 4 trips and have had no reception issues. I think that is a great idea to have your 13 year old carry around that phone. You can buy a phone that already has double minutes for its life or a double minute card. The minutes will go quick since they go by minute increments, not actual talk time.
In other words, when you make a 30 second call one minute will be subtracted from your minutes available. 90 second call will eat 2 minutes. They always round up to the next minute on your calls. If you call is 3 minutes and 2 seconds they will take 4 minutes from you.

Oh, I get it now! Thanks so much for explaining it The phone I'm looking at is pretty inexpensive and comes with the double minutes feature. I think it'll work out well to keep in touch with the two 13year olds....especially if they want to ride something (and wait in a long line) that the 9yo doesn't want to.
I used to have a tracfone and it worked great in the parks. No problems at all. If you want to conserve your minutes use texting instead. It only eats up 0.3 minutes for each text. Just make sure your texts are worthy, not "hi" only etc. KWIM?
