Hey :) Anyone have the LG 500G Trac Phone?? I'm looking into it......TIA!!! Wendy

I have one (with the triple minutes option sold through HSN).

First off, since the model number ends in "G", that means the phone will use either AT&T or T-Mobile's network --if they work fine in your area, no problem...

A couple more things you need to consider:

If you are looking for mobile internet access, the web broswer is rudimentary, at best and the letter/number keys are tiny. Texting can also be a bit of a hassle, as you have to constantly alternate between letters and numbers.

IMO, it's not a bad phone, but there are better Tracfones on the market, such as their latest, which has Wi-Fi capability, rubberized keys, and a much larger screen....

My daughter has that one. We've been pleased. She uses it to talk and text.

She doesn't use the Internet.

I think that is one we looked at but did not like the size of the keys. We went with the LG800G, triple minutes and larger keys for texting. It does have a touch screen also.

I have that one...well one just like that one...the 501C. My son and I had mistakenly bought the 500G after my husband liked his so well, which was the 501C and hey they looked EXACTLY the same. We couldn't figure out why he never had a bit of trouble and we kept getting dropped calls and crappy service. Found out the 500G runs off AT & T which does not have good service in my area and the 501C runs off Verizon which has excellent service in my area. So we scrapped the 500G and bought us both 501C. I don't text a lot but it works fine for what I need. Anywhere I have traveled my phone has worked great. Just make sure the G will work in your area. Bought on sale for $20.

We bought the cheapest one offered ($9.99) at Target. Saw same thing at Walmart. It actually came w/ lots of things - car charger, holster case, reg. charger, some other stuff. I hooked it up to see if I could do it, and I did it, pretty easy. It comes w/ 20 mins. of free time. We got an inexpensive minute card to start off with. Bought it so we could use that phone and number to sell our car, and not have strangers calling on either of our cell phones or home phone. The new car we are buying was supposed to have been here by now, otherwise I would already be trying to use the phone. Oh well. It was cheap enough. When we are done w/ selling the car (fingers crossed!) we are going to change the phone number and give it to 11DD as a cell phone for emergencies. I can't afford to have her using a cell phone on the regular cell phone plan. This way she will have to manage her minutes carefully.:cool1:
