I had the same dessert at Coral Reef as you did and I was a little disappointed. I too always get the chocolate wave but wanted to try something different, but I'll go back to the wave next time

I would agree with you! I was trying to watch my chocolate intake and figured I'd try something new and thought it was good but not as good as the chocolate wave!

Sounds like a great day so far other than those rude guests

It's not really a crazy day jumping parks. We've done that since my brother and I were tweens. I don't know if I'd be doing that with young kids but it's super easy as adults and especially if you have a car!

We've been to WDW twice without cars and stayed at WL and found that it was a disaster because with all the bus stops they make but with POP which is like a billion dollars cheaper, they don't have multiple resort stops and are super efficient!

PARK DAY PART 3


HI DIS FRIENDS!!

I hope everyone is having/had a good holiday weekend! I had a great 2 days with family events and was glad to sleep in today! It will be nice having a 4 day work week!!

Dbro called today with a bit of news. Mr..I'm not going to stay down in FL after the program is looking at several possible work options..all in FL I told him once you are down there, you are hooked! He is going on Thurs to a character audition to be able to cross-train and pick up extra shifts as he is only get 30'ish hours a week. It will pay bills, put gas in the car, and feed you but that's about it! We'll see how he does! He also heard that they have multiple opportunities on Disney Cruise Line for full-time jobs. You can stay and live in FL or live elsewhere and just fly down for your work. Both Dbro and his roomie are going to consider that as well.

Now for the TR!!

Sun Aug 8th Cont.

When we left off, we had just eaten at CR. We decided to head to:

Of course it was walk-on and we were on and off super quickly! After that we stopped to think of what to do next. We were going to MK for the night and Dbro wanted to see Captain Eo so we decided to check out the time and the next show started in 5 mins so we went:

We both walked out thinking..what the..???? Dbro thought the same thing and loved it. I on the other hand will not be going back

We decided to talk around WS back to YC to rest, shower, and change for the night at MK!

Road block!!!!

After a rest, we walked out and caught the bus to MK. We never drive to MK just because why take the time to drive, park, take the tram in, wait for a monorail or boat and then finally arrive. We took the bus instead. We waited 10/15 mins and the bus came!

We stood at the non-working tip board to try and figure out a plan. After being up since 6am we decided on a plan that didn't take us from one side to the other! We started off:

The plan was to start off on the right and stay between TMW and FL until the parade and fireworks and then hit the left side of the park after the parade and fireworks...

Did the plan work????

PARK DAY PART 4

After we went on TTA, we headed over to SM. It said it had a 45 min wait which to me didn't seem bad for it being August! We decided to get a FP to use later in the night. We decided to hit COP to sit and relax The room was filled! Everyone seemed to really get into it and were clapping and cheering. It was most energetic show I've ever been in!

We then decided to check out Buzz and walked on within 10 mins.

After Buzz it was time for our FP for Space Mt!

By then it was starting to get dark so we headed over to FL to check out the wait times on the rides there after Space Mt.

It was then we just stood there trying to figure out what to do. Most of the rides had wait times and Small World was closed so we decided to hop on Snow White. After Snow White the sky was looking dark. Not knowing if it was going to rain (which it didn't!) we didn't want to chance the 2nd parade and decided to watch the first and knew we'd have a crappy spot to stand as it was nearing parade time:

It has been years since I've seen MSEP. IMO, I wasn't thrilled with it. I LOVE Spectro and was expecting this parade to be comparable to the Party parades ie: Xmas, Halloween, and Pirate/Princess but it wasn't. Dbro took pics as we were a few people back but they didn't turn out super great:

After the parade it was chow time! We I caved and went to Caseys as we only had 45 mins between parade and fireworks so we headed over. We ordered 2 hot dog meals, 2 diet cokes, and 2 cotton candy's (which never did get eaten). We walked out side and saw a family getting up and dashed over for a table!

We ate pretty quickly and it was at that point that Dbro decided to b-line it over to get a Dole Whip and I would get a parade spot. He came back empty handed and said sadly that I had his KTTW card so he wasn't able to get one I said we would go straight there after Fireworks!

When the fireworks were over, we headed to get Dole Whips to use snack credits. Of course they melted all over the place since it was still in the high 80s at 10pm. We ate quickly and decided to check out Jungle Cruise. We were in line and ended up getting out because it was still showing a 30 min wait. We decided to ride it during EMH..bad decision on our part as we went back after EMH and it was closed. We could have sworn it was always open for EMH but maybe we were thinking of the Party nights instead???

We did end up riding POTC and HM. We went over to Front.land and saw that SM was closed..not only was it closed but there was no water on the ride Sad at that, we rode BTMR instead and then headed for Fland. We got to Fland and walked around as if we were chickens with our heads cut off. PP was still a good hour wait and it was nearing midnight So we stood there and just decided to call it a night as Dbro had to be up super early the next day to check in for his College Program!!

We got outside and waited 15 mins for a bus and got home just after midnight. I took a good night Stacey pic and we were off to sleep!

It was but believe it or not, we've had longer days! When we used to vacation in the summer, we would be out till 3am EMH! We had a pretty long break in the middle of the day but still! Just wait till you'll be up like that too!

Haha..no plan? There is always a plan! I guess we just went with the flow too at some points which is not like us but after seeing Jungle Cruise being closed it just threw us off haha. We do not deal well with change!

DHS: ToT RnR and Star Tours
Epcot: Soarin, MS, and TT
MK: all 3 mountains
We also managed to eat 2 CS meals, watch fireworks at MK, and then went to RCF at DTD to end the day..but were pretty much falling asleep at the table!

I'm not sure I've ever done anything else to top that!

I agree with you! I do also love CHH and Pecos Bill but I caved when we had less than a 1/2 hour to eat before the fireworks lol. In March we went our different ways and I ended up to PB and Dbro went to Caseys and met up with me to eat his meal

Wow, I've been reading your trip reports for the past few hours now! I found your WDWCP one on the college board (someone posted a link to it) and after I read that one, I moved to this one. Your experiences in Disney are really inspiring to me, I like how you and your brother are down there at the same time. I'll have to pitch this idea to my brother too...he loves Disney as well as I do!

Haha..it was fun!!! My roommate and I were both 20 at the time and we went with a friend of hers that works FT at WDW. He got us in for free so we made the most out of the free day at WDW as poor college students staying at her Aunts house in West Palm Beach for the week

Wow, I've been reading your trip reports for the past few hours now! I found your WDWCP one on the college board (someone posted a link to it) and after I read that one, I moved to this one. Your experiences in Disney are really inspiring to me, I like how you and your brother are down there at the same time. Thanks!! My brother and I aren't there at the same time It would be nice. I just helped him drive down and then I flew home after a few days. I did my program in 2008 and left FL in May 2009 since I wasn't able to go FT due to the strikes. I had some great moments working and living there..so great that my plans (as of now) are to go back as soon as I can get my darn state board teaching test passed!!

DBRO MOVES IN!!

Happy Friday Dis!!!

I'm glad it was a quick week

Not much to update on..ya right! Dbro got to go to MK on Wed to see the Cast Preview of MNSSHP Parade. He said he loved it but the headless horseman went too slow so he was disappointed! Next week is his character audition to hopefully pick up extra hours. We shall see what happens! He and his roomie are also talking about pursuing a career with Disney Cruise Line. This totally baffles me because:
#1 Dbro has NO DESIRE to go on a cruise and never has.
#2 Dbro does not enjoy swimming, the ocean, you name it!
I guess another friend of theirs works FT, lives in Orlando, and picks up shifts in the parks when he has time off. I think it would be a great opportunity for Dbro but funny considering all his "hates"!

Well that's it as far as Dbro! He still enjoys his job and being down in FL! Today is he working Epcot EMH till 11:30pm!

MONDAY AUGUST 9, 2010:

Once again it was an early morning as Dbro wanted to be at check-in super early! You check in based on your spot in line so the earlier you are at check-in, the quicker you will get done and have the majority of the day to unpack and go shopping.

We got up and had a super super super quick breakfast at the lounge and then headed to the car. When we got to the car, Dbro's new roomie called and said he was already at check-in (this was 7:15) and there were already 50 ppl ahead of him We got there as quickly as we could and Dbro jumped in line with his roomie. By 8am they let everyone in and check-in began. There was a tent for the family/friends so I went in there and got a family booklet for my mom and walked across the way to Chick-fil-A for a more filling breakfast than the bagel I had on the go!

I'm not really sure of times because it all seemed to go speedy quick but after I ate, I walked back and sat down at a table and began talking to a mom of a DD in the program and a sister of a Dbro in the program. A DVC rep came out and asked if we wanted to attend the program so we said sure! He took us in and handed us reusable DVC bags with all the info inside. I answered a question right about the new DVC resort and got a special DVC Pin!!

The bag and pin were super cute! I'm not sure if they sell those at the DVC resorts or not??!!

After the hour long presentation and me wanting so badly to sign up, I said thanks and walked outside. By that point it was nearing 10:30/11am so I texted Dbro. He said they were at Casting but he got held up because he had to disclose his record (drinking and driving one of his friends home--with only one headlight, when he shouldn't have on New Years Eve 2009) He said they were letting him pass through check-in since they had it documented that his record had been cleared with his fines paid, comm. service done, and meetings done. But..they needed proof. Well, he might have been stupid the night he was caught but he was smart enough to bring all of his documents which were in the car back at check-in with me. So me, his kind, not stupid sister, drove to casting to bring the papers so his trainings wouldn't be delayed.

After that process, we finally were able to go to his apartment!
He lives in Patterson Court..the newest of the CP apts but size wise, they are the smallest by far! He has 5 roommates plus himself and they are in a 3 bedroom/3 bathroom.

After I helped move Dbro in, we still had 2 hours till his housing meeting so he decided to run me back to YC so I could go to the pool before the daily storms. We decided to try and have lunch at Beaches and Cream but they had a wait so we settled for Hurricane Hannahs which was good too! Dbro left then..taking his stuff with him and I sat by the pool!!!

It is! He brought his 40 something inch TV which takes up their whole dresser and his roommate brought a similar one but a 32 inch that's out in their family room with another smaller non-flat screen TV
Meanwhile, we had one TV for our whole apt that was shared in the family room!
