Toystoryduo’s Journal: Baby Steps are the Key... Celebrate Each Victory!

Tracy -- I have been thinking of you and your family. I hope your Mom is doing better. I'm glad you have set goals and haven't abandoned them, but I hope you don't put too much pressure on yourself. I think keeping track of how many of those goals we meet each day or each week is so much better than looking at whether we met ALL of them any given day or week, if that makes sense?

Keeping you and yours in my prayers, sweetie!

Tracy, so glad your mom finally got into a room. 12 hours is crazy ridiculous. I hope they get her stablized. Do not give up on the goals! Every day you make them is putting you closer to your overall goal. Every day you don't is simply one day that gets a fresh start the next day! So good job hanging in there. I hope you got some time to relax today. Keeping you and your mom and dad in my prayers Wish Sis!

Good morning WISH friends,

Some updates.....

1. Mom: She is still in the hospital and appears to be doing better. We have not had a chance to speak with her doctor yet, but I do know that there are changing her meds to see if that helps. She sleeps a lot and really doesn't interact with anyone. The nurse told us that she is the quietest one there. Thank you for your continued prayers.

2. Mini-goals.... With so much on my mind the past few days, they seem to have flown right out the window. My numbers are not good at all. I will keep plodding along though.

1. Breakfast: 3/4

2. No eating after 9:00 p.m.: 1/4

3. Exercise: 3/4

4. No fast food: 2/4

3. Homeschool.... DD6 and I have some serious work to do this week. Her current schedule has her finishing kindergarten at the end of June so we have some lessons to make up. We're going to double up on Math and History this week and next and see if she can test out of the phonics lessons she's missed.

4. Taxes.... Causing me loads of stress! :& I'm just having such a hard time sitting down and doing them. My goal is to have them done by Friday. Please send any tax :wizard: you can spare. ;)

5. Walt Disney World....This is an exciting week for us! We get to start booking our ADR's, the kid's cooking class at the Grand Floridian, and my DH's birthday surprise.... parasailing at the Contemporary! :cool1: They may announce free dining for the general public soon so I really want to get these ADR's set as soon as possible.

I'm really not feeling well today, but I am going to try my best to get things done. Hope everyone has a great week! :goodvibes

Tracey~ Thanks for your support WISH sis!

Cam~ Thanks for stopping by and thanks for your support! I'm trying not to put too much pressure on myself regarding my goals....

Amy~ I so appreciate your prayers and support. I hope things get better soon for both of our moms.

Tracy, sweetie, I am so glad you have WDW planning to sustain you this week! :goodvibes: I hope your conversation with your Mom's doctor goes well and brings you peace of mind. I am sure taxes are tedious, but just think of how great you'll feel when that load is off your shoulders! :cool1:

Have a great day!

Hi Tracy,

Glad to hear that your mom finally made it to a room....continuing to send prayers and thoughts your way.

I heard that they may be offereing free dining again, I read that here on the boards. I just wish we knew for sure. We are going to Wdw again, we are just waiting to book for that reason alone. I sent you a PM also.

You are doing great even with everything that you are going through.

Keep your head up!

Have a great day :)

Tracey--sounds like a tough week for you. Sorry to hear about your mom...I will keep her and your family in my thoughts. I agree that it is ridiculous that she spent 12 hours in an emergency room. I have had that happen to me one time when I was sick and I was sooooooo...mad. I am glad she finally got settled in a room, and hopefully she will be feeling better soon.

An EARHTQUAKE...yikes!!!! I didn't think they had those in Ohio! Glad to hear it was only a small one. Still probably would have been enough to scare the living daylights out of me. :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

OOhhh Tracy lucky you getting to make your ADR's :)
It really makes the trip seem closer doesnt it :)
Glad your mom is still doing well, i hope she gets to go home soon!
Have a great week

I haven't been posting much, Tracy, but I've been thinking 'bout you bunches and praying about all the 'stuff' you have going on. I'm hoping your talk with the Dr goes well.

Loads & Loads of :wizard: for taxes headed your way. I've given up momentarily and now plan to finish them over DDs spring Break. If I can just concentrate for about 2 hours or less I"ll be done. It's the concentration factor that is a problem!

Hope your week goes well. Don't stress over the little things - REALLY HARD, I know!

Try to take some Tracy time!

Tracy, I really am praying the new meds help your mom. I am so sorry you and your dad are going through this right now. Sending some  and :wizard: your way! I also will send some TAX KARMA your way too! I hate doing taxes, its such a pain. But hopefully you'll get a nice fat refund! That's great that you can make your ADR's this week. That is just what you need to cheer you up! My ADR date is coming up the end of April, can't wait, those future Disney trips are all that get me through sometimes.

Don't stress over your totals. Two fast food meals is better than four and so on. You need to be kind and understanding to yourself. It will all happen, you are doing so well overall. Just hang in there!

Hope you get dd caught up on homeschooling, I am betting you will.

Take care Wish Sis!:)

Thanks WISH sisters.:grouphug: What a blessing it is to come here and find your words of encouragement and support.:grouphug: Thank you!

Yesterday was a good day...

* Taxes are done!:woohoo:

* DH got 2 checks he had been waiting for!:woohoo:

* Our van passed the emissions test!:woohoo:

* My mom was up and about yesterday and is feeling a little better!:woohoo:

* My DH got a free dinner and dessert at Damon's because his birthday is on Thursday!:woohoo:

* I jogged for about 5-7 minutes yesterday during my 30 minute walk!:woohoo:

So all in all, it was a good day yesterday. Today, I'm kind of feeling blah, but I think that's because of TOM's impending arrival.

Mini goals:

1. Breakfast: 3/5 (So busy doing taxes, I forgot breakfast and lunch!)

2. No eating after 9:00 p.m.: 2/5

3. Exercise: 4/5

4. No fast food: 3/5

* I did have a small baked potato after 9:00 p.m. last night, but it was because I was hungry. Not because I was eating out of boredom or frustration.

Today's Plan:

* Laundry

* Homeschool

* Workout

That's about all from here. Hope everyone had a great day!:cool1:

Cam~ It's funny that you should mention that... I told my DH last night that I was going through planning withdrawl. Both of our trips are planned out on paper already. Usually, I'm not this organized when it comes to our trip. ;)

Jamie~ Thanks for your words of encouragement... I sent you a PM.:goodvibes

Laurie~ The earthquake was the talk of Northeast Ohio!:chat: All of our neighbors came out of their houses to see what had happened.

Tracey~ I am excited to make ADRs this week, but planning withdrawl has already begun. Now, I just want September to be here so we can go on our free dining trip!:rotfl:

Julie~ Thanks WISH sis! I appreciate your prayers and support.

Amy~ Thanks so much for your support! I hope I can get this homeschooling stuff caught up soon.

Hey Tracy~
Sorry I haven't checked in lately...no excuses!!
Glad to hear your mom is doing better. Will she be going home soon?
Good job on getting your taxes done!! I still haven't done ours yet....same problem...just can't get motivated to sit down and do them! I think tomorrow will be the day....I hope!
HAPPY B-DAY TOMORROW!!! :bday:

Also...great job on getting the exercise in!! I'm not doing to great there either!

have a great week(end)!
marie

Thanks Marie!

Good morning WISH friends,

My DH's 34th birthday is today and how do we celebrate? The girls and I are sick!   We all have sore throats/ aches/ pains/ headaches and feel just downright miserable. We did give my DH his gift last night when we were feeling a bit better.... Parasailing at Sammy Duval's in WDW this September!

My mom has been doing okay. She's had some good days and some bad days. We're supposed to visit her tonight and then go out to eat, but at this point, I don't see that happening since the girls and I feel like crud. :(

Today's Plan:

* Straighten the house up a bit.... My brother and my cousin are coming to visit. My brother is here from Illinois.

* Relax... Not feeling well + TOM =:crazy2: :faint:

That's about all from here.... Oh wait! My mini-goals:

1. Breakfast: 5/7= 71%

2. No eating after 9:00 p.m.: 4/7= 57%

3. Exercise: 6/7 = 86%

4. No fast food: 5/7= 71%

Next week's goals:

1. Breakfast: 1/7

2. No Eating After 9:00 p.m.: 0/7

3. Exercise: 1/7

4. No fast food: 0/7

Hope everyone has a great day!:goodvibes

Happy Birthday to your DH, Tracy!

Please take care of yourself & rest! The 'CRUD' is NOT fun!!

Try to have a good day!

Thanks Julie.

I just got off the phone with my dad and found out that they are releasing my mom tomorrow due to insurance issues.... What?!?!?! The doctor doesn't think she is stable enough to be released and neither do my dad and I, but the insurance company has the final say I guess. They may not even approve the 3 weeks of intensive outpatient therapy that the doctor is recommending either. This is rather frustrating.....Please continue your thoughts and prayers for my mom and dad. :grouphug:

How awful that the insurance is kicking your mom out of the hospital! You'd think the Dr would be able to override that decision. I hope everything works out in that regards!

I hope everyone is feeling better at your house, just keep focusing on WDW and hopefully the stress will go away! :wizard:

Thanks Amy!

Good morning WISH friends,

I am so very tired this morning. :( Between taking care of two sick children, being sick myself, dealing with DH's horrible day yesterday, and dealing with my mom's early release from the hospital, I am just plum worn out. :sad1: I have laundry and homeshcooling to do, we're supposed to celebrate my DH's birthday with his family today, and we're supposed to go to work with my DH in case he needs help. Where to find the energy?:confused3

I may not get to journals this weekend... Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Hi Tracy
