Do the Jr. games work in the regular XP player?

I signed up through the link in this thread. I had to download the Active X plug-in to get the coupons to print. Otherwise, it worked fine. Thanks!
The Jr games and XP are not interchangeable! Which was hard for me to decide because the Nick Jr. shows are only compatible for the Jr. machine. I got the XP. Also, one of the 3in1 discs was on clearance for $9.99 (Ed, Edd & Eddy, etc) so I got the VideoNow XP + 3 in 1 disc for only $20.00 (used $5.00 coupon too) Awesome!

The Jr tapes should work fine in the XP. I use them in the regular video now with no problem. There is no diffirence in the Jr and reg discs. Just the age range. What you will not be able to do is play the New XP discs in the Jr or reg one. The XP discs do not have interactive features.

All discs are playable in the XP. You can also play XP discs in the Video Now Color and Video Now Jr, however, the games included on the XP discs only play on the XP machine. I just tested my kids Blue's Clues and Dora discs from last year in the new XP and they work fine!!!

Now I am totally confused!! I looked on the package and it states that the Jr. discs are exclusive only to the Jr. or color machines. Not one to believe everything I read, I asked an associate who then asked the manager of the department. This manager assured me that the discs are not interchangeable. I told him my dilemma, and said again that the discs are not interchangeable.

So, I bought the XP with 2 discs for XP. What I really wanted was the Nick Jr. discs for my younger son. So did I make the right or wrong decision?? Do the jr. discs work in the XP??

I am new to all this, I am just going by what is printed on the discs and the Mgr. @ Toys R Us. Help!!!

That is because the discs came out before the XP was released. That was also listed because the original video now players (the black and white ones) can not play any other discs. The XP plays all Video Now discs :flower: That manager should not have been so emphatic when he obviously does not know the system very well!

Just to reassure you here is what the manufacturer's site (hasbro.com) says in the FAQ section:

Question
What are the differences between the VideoNow Color and VideoNow XP?

Answer
The VideoNow XP has a three-inch screen. The VideoNow XP PVDs are interchangeable with the VideoNow Color and VideoNow JR players. Each VideoNow XP PVD has a 3 minute game on them which can only be unlocked on the VideoNow XP player.

Question
Will the VideoNow XP play VideoNow Jr. PVDs?

Answer
Yes, the VideoNow XP will play VideoNow Jr. PVDs. It will also play VideoNow Color and black and white VideoNow PVDs

I hope that this puts your mind at ease!

I was just going to type what HayGan said. I wasn't sure but I figured the JR PVD's said they could only play on the other 2 players because it was before the XP came out. I had thought about these for my 2 boys but we already have a double DVD player for the car. Also you have to buy the discs specifically for the VideoNows. If Toys R Us was closer I probably would have went and bought them each one.

My DH was able to get 2 of the Video Now XP tonight yeah! I was afraid we were going to be to late to get them but they still had a few XP's and a lot of Jr's.

:)

OP here! Glad I could give everyone a little heads up. :goodvibes We got the two we needed. Usually I am the last to know about all the good stuff (ie=Holiday Inn for $.92  ). I was one of the first this time. Glad to spread the cheer. Can't wait to see what else is in store!

Thanks OP! :)

What time does the next deal get announced for tomorrow :)

The video now is a great deal but, I don't need one. I can't wait to see what the coupons are for tomorrow. Does anyone now how early they are e-mailed?
