Toyota Highlander vs Honda Pilot

I have a 2004 Pilot and LOVE it. Our choice came down to the 4Runner and Pilot and we decided on the Pilot because it was slightly cheaper.

I know we can fit two infant carriers and a Evenflo Triumph in the second row. Two full-sized carseats in the third row. Two full-sized carseats and a person in the second row. That's all the configurations we've tried.

Our second car is a Ford and it's had so many major problems in it's first few years... It's now nearly ten and only surviving because it barely gets driven. For the SUV we test-drove the Trailblazer and we didn't find it comfortable. Ditto on the Explorer. We liked the Saturn but it was a lighter-sized model at that point and didn't have the towing capacity.

We only have 1 car seat and it was easy to install in the Highlander 07. I don't think you can put a car seat in the 3rd row? Also, I have to second the no A/C in the back. We do have a vent & control for heat but it doesn't work for a/c...I thought that was odd! If they can put heat and seperate control back there for that, why couldn't it be used for a/c too?

Honestly, I don't know why Dh has a problem with the room in the driver seat. He's not tall, 5'8. But I have absolute no problem with it (ok I am only 5'3 ;) )
Anyway, we got a really good deal on our Highlander since they are trying to clear them out for the 08's. 0% financing, money off and a few other deals.

We just traded in our '03 Pilot for our first ever brand new, never before owned vehicle...a 2007 Pilot. At 95,000 miles our '03 had never given us a bit of trouble, but we couldn't pass up the chance to buy an '07 at 20% off sticker in the model year end clearance.

It practically took an act of congress to get dh to ever consider the first Pilot, as he was always a die hard "made in America" car buyer. The combination of our growing family and our growing distrust in minivans finally made him reconsider. We can comfortably fit all 6 children, ages 2-21 (one of those in a carseat and one in a booster) and a modest amount of "stuff". In fact, we (minus the 21 year old) will be making our first ever trip to Orlando in it in September :cool1: We also love having the ability to fold the back 2 rows flat and transport something as large as a sheet of plywood.
