Yeah, I have been driving my Sequoia around A LOT!

This year I average about $300-$450/mo on gas alone with all the kids' activities.

We have enough to put down that our payment will be $300/mo. We have calculated the gas to be around $150 on average.

I hate having a payment again, but I have been putting $300 into a new car savings fund for 3 years, so I will be using that towards these payments and then with the gas savings, we will be coming out ahead and have a car.

We just traded out chevy traverse in for a Prius v. I have driven large SUVs for a long time so I'm concerned about driving a regular car, but between our high payment on the traverse and the gas savings we are looking at saving almost $500 a month.

We have two Prius' and had the Lexus CT200h Hybrid. We have found the he fuel economy is mostly realized on "in town" driving. Highway miles are comparable to any other fuel efficient traditional car. All of our driving is in town so it does not matter. If you are doing mostly highway miles, the additional price for the hybrid may not be worth the extra price if you are purchasing the hybrid based on gas savings alone.
