Hello,

My family is headed down to Disneyland in a couple of weeks. We are staying at the Best Western Raffles Inn & Suites. I noticed that the Toy Story parking lot is only about 1/3 of a mile from the hotel.

Is it possible to walk to that lot from the BW Raffles and take the trams to Disneyland for free? :confused3

Thank you for your help!

Short answer. Yes.

Longer answer. Yes. You do not have to park in the lot to use the shuttle. Guests from close hotels walk there to use it and there are no reports of DL discouraging it. Guests from Raffles, Sheraton Park and Red Lion are all close enough to catch it and save some walking time and distance.

Does anybody have any idea on how long it would take to walk from the Sheraton Park to the Toy story parking lot? The lot doesn't look *that* much closer than just walking to the park directly.

My family is staying at BW Raffles and plan to do this as well. When I searched this site key words Toy Story Paking lot busses. It came up that people walk over and take the bus with out trouble from the CM. Hopefully it stays that way thru the summer.;)

Make your decision with this Map:http://wikimapia.org/#lat=33.807964&lon=-117.917461&z=15&l=0&m=b

Looks like it's 490 meters to walk to TS lot from the Sheraton Park, vs. 1100 meters to walk to where the TS tram would drop you off inside DL.

There is a greater chance that we will be using the tram to come back at the end of the day. :faint: We may just walk to DL in the morning.

Well the other poster already gave out a great link and while yes, it will definitly be closer to walk to the shuttle and get a ride, actual time spent walking vs the shuttle is about the same! I did it last year and also will be staying at the Sheraton Park this year as well! And from that spot it will take about 12-15 mins to walk to the resort. If you take the TS shuttle, it will take about 5-7 mins to get to the shuttle (its deeeeep inside the lot) and then 5 mins to actually get to the park!

So if you just want to save some energy on your feet, then do the shuttle. But if you are trying to make up time, it wont make a lick of difference and may even take you longer, especially if the lines for the shuttles are huge (but they rarely are, they go FAST!!!!).

Me personnally, I always walk in the day and take it back at night! Nice compromise! :)

We will be staying at BW raffles inn and had initially planned to use the ART. Can anyone who has stayed in this area speak to which option they'd do ART or the parking lot tram?

Thank you all for the help. A great place to go to figure out how far something is http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/ for walking. Using that map, it seems to be about 1/3 of a mile to the Toy Story Lot shuttle versus a little over a mile to walk to Disneyland from the BW Raffles.

As to the last poster, I haven't stayed here yet, but it seems to me that the toy story shuttle might be easier than waiting for the ART since, I believe the shuttles run more often versus the ART schedule. But please someone let me know if that's wrong.

Tours a good point. Does anyone know how often the trams run at the parking lot?

Thank you both for your replies, they were very helpful. :thumbsup2

When we stayed last year at the Sheraton Park we walked for the first 1/2 of our stay and for the last few days we got the ART passes.

I'm weighing the pros and cons of a combination of walking and either the Tram or the ART.

The ART was nice because my mom is in her mid 70s, and while she is a trooper it was nice to sit and wait for the shuttle to come pick us up and drop us off right at our hotel after a long day in the parks.

If we take more mid day breaks this time around, we can opt for the Tram maybe.

Thought I would bring this thread back from the depths real quick... I was doing a little research on Google Street View (love it) and was looking at the entrance to the Toy Story Lot. For those of you who have walked from your hotel to the lot, is there a seperate entrance you should go through or do you just walk in by where the cars enter? Thanks!

There is a pedestrian gate near the entrance that cars enter at. Right now, I would imagine that Disney and the Anaheim PD would prefer that you use the Toy Story shuttles (or ART) over walking for your safety, due to the protests.

There is no real way for them to tell if you parked in the parking lots or walked in as a general rule.

Ok cool, glad to hear that there is a gate. We weren't going until December so hopefully there won't be any protests going on by then. Thanks again for the info.
