I am just double checking...

the WDW version has FP and singler rider lines for this new attraction? Am I right in assuming that DCA does NOT? I have not heard it does.

I am glad it is now officially opening...so we can get a sense of how long the lines will be. I am trying to plan my DCA time and that is the big elephant in the room "just how long will the wait be?"...

No FastPass for TSMM at DCA but there will be Single Rider! :cool1:

When I was there for the preview last week, the Single Rider sign was installed, but was turned away from the queue. I took a picture of it and also asked the CMs on duty if, indeed, they would be having a Single Rider line. They assured me that they would. They just weren't doing it for the previews.

That is wonderful news. If the line is insane, my DH and I have no prob doing single rider if it means saving time for other things while at DCA. Yay...you made my day with this news! :cool1:

You know, I really don't understand why they would make TSM a fastpass at WDL, but not at DL. If they can do it there, why not in CA? Grrrr...

Well I can tell you that fastpass at the WDW TSM isn't all its cracked up to be! It still takes a long time, if the standby is an hour, fastpass is about thirty minutes at WDW. Its a slow loading ride. I have noticed that at WDW, they'll put fp's in slow loaders (Peter Pan for example) and that seems to make the standby go that much slower.

I have also heard that the powers that be at Disneyland don't much care for the whole fastpass system. So I wasn't surprised it didn't get fp and while it would be nice in some ways, in others it just complicates matters.

I think once the initial hype is over for TSM the standby lines will go down. The bottom line is that this ride is at the far back end of DCA so people aren't as likely to ride it over and over again, esp. people who aren't huge lovers of DCA and want to spend most of their time at DL.

Oh great, now we will have to do the TSM dash at CA in addition to the Nemo dash at DL. Time to start working out.

This is GREAT news!!! :yay: I was able to ride the WDW version on June 1st and it's a great ride! But I know the line is going to be SO LONG and it is a ride you are going to want to ride more than once!!! :thumbsup2
A single rider entrance will be helpful - myself, dh, and older two kids don't mind riding single rider if it saves alot of time!:)

The line for TSM was 5 HOURS this morning at 10 am when the park opened!!! I'm going back in a bit and will try the single rider. I didn't know there was one.

UGH I waited in that for Toy Story Mania for like 6.5 hours and I got there at 10 am. The line started at the front of the park!!! The ride broke down twice. The first time the wait was 45 minutes long and when I was so close to the ride it broke down again and the wait time became indefinate. They kept telling us it was temporarily closed for like 2 hours and would not gives us a fast pass for the ride until many people started to complain. I really did feel sorry for the kids that waited in line for so long and did not get to go on the ride.

O yea I asked a cast member and he said that there will be no single rider line until all the "mania" is gone from TSM.

Wow. I wouldn't wait for any ride for even an hour, let alone 6.5!

Not opening the SR line just doesn't make any sense. It speeds things up and gets more people through! There are plenty of families of 3, and putting a single rider into that empty seat does nothing but help the lines...

CRAZY!!!!!! A friend of mine last night tried to get me to go down with her today... she was thinking we'd wait an hour if we got there early... then could ride GRR... and be outta there by lunch. SO glad I didn't agree to go! I told her it would be crazy, but I never figured 6.5 hours! I don't wait more than an hour either.

6.5 hours?
It's a great ride, but I definatly would not wait that long!:confused3
I am so glad we got to ride it this past Sat. with only a 40 min wait.

Not opening the SR line makes sense to me. There is space for maybe a dozen people in the SR queue. With the excessive wait times right now, Disney is undoubtedly afraid that families & groups will break up and jam the SR line, too. That would likely make things even more difficult to manage.

BTW, here's the pic that I mentioned above, showing the SR sign facing the wrong way 'round. (I had to practically climb into the planter to get this shot.)

Yes, you are probably right. When I rode the WDW version on June 1st the standby line was 120 minutes (remember they offer fastpass). We didn't get a fastpass because we were not going to be in that park all day and the return time was for late in the evening. Our group of three decided to just do the single rider entrance. At the entrance to the SR Line there was a CM telling people if they were getting in this line to shorten their wait time it might not actually happen. They were discouraging groups to not do what we did - wait in line together and then ride separately. Of course the wait wasn't 120 minutes, but it was about 30 minutes. But that was better than 2 hours! :cool1:

And thanks for the picture! :thumbsup2

I'm not sure whether DH & I should get over there when they open in the morning or not. This afternoon, we were told "2 hours", so we didn't get in line.

I must not be paying attention or something... can somebody tell me where, specifically, this thing IS? All I heard was Paradise Pier and "way back there". Thanks!

Gail, it's just past California Screamin' on the Midway.

Thank goodness we did the "soft" opening on Sunday. Lines today were up to 6 hours long (no kidding!) and then the ride shut down. Imagine being in line that long, and then having to leave.

Does this ride open before 10:00? I heard that screamin opens at 9:00 every day.

You were misinformed. The front of the DCA park opens at 9:30 am most days, with Soarin being the only attraction open for that first half-hour. They rope off the rest of the park with official park opening at 10:00 am. Midway Mania will open at 10:00 with the rest of the park (that is, if it's actually working). ;)

Maybe its just me but that is dumb! So the park opens at 9:30 and you run to get in line at TSM and its not even open till 10:00?????:confused3
