I posted this on the tail end of another thread, but it got buried too fast.

My daughter will be 4 at the end of april and we are going May 3-10 for her birthday and staying at ASMo, hopefully in the toy story wing, but i am not getting my hopes up.

She is a huge Toy Story fan and is soooo excited about seeing Jessie from Toy Story 2. She also wants to see bullseye, and of course buzz and woody. Now i have read on allears that to find all these characters, you must go to Al's Toy Barn in MGM. That is fine, she is excited about that too, she is also extremely excited about Pizza Planet, but is it that easy? Are the characters always there. i have seen pictures with Jessie, buzz and woody, but i have never seen bullseye.

I just read back through and it seems like i am rambling... :cool1:

I just want to know if anyone has any stories or tips to share. I would love to be able to do as much stuff that involves anything Toy Story as possible.

Thank You!!

Yes, the characters are at Al's Toy Barn at MGM Studios for certain hours during the day. You can find those specific hours if you go to Steve Soares's Disney Live Entertainment Wesbite, at:

http://pages.prodigy.net/stevesoares/

Click on MGM Studios at the top of the page and scroll down to find Al's Toy Barn.

I will say that when we saw the characters there in March 04 it was the worst line we had the whole trip. Maybe someone else can give you good advice about timing.

We also have eaten at Pizza Planet which can get very crowded, so I would ltry to get there before official lunch time. It was fun for the kids to do a few games inthe arcade while DH got the food, and we sat outside. Pleasant!

We also saw Jessie hanging out in the plaza at MGM, Ithink.

Our very best Buzz encounters were at the Buzz Lightyear ride in Tomorrowlnad.

Hope this helps!

MK - Last month we met Buzz by his ride in tomorrowland, in the building next door, and met Woody & Jessie in Frontierland inside Diamond Horseshore Saloon. Neither were crowded.

Hi,

Last year as we were passing the Diamond Horshoe Saloon in Frontierland we noticed a sign that said "Woody and Friends" or something like that, so we went in, and sure enough, there was Buzz, Woody and Jesse. The line wasn't that bad either--took us only about 10 minutes to get to the top. Later we looked at the the show schedule and sure enough they were listed there. I asked around and found out that that is a pretty regular place for them to go, so you might want to check that location when you go to the MK.

As for Pizza Planet, it gets crowded at lunchtime, but so does everywhere. The catch with this place is that it doesn't really look like the Pizza Planet from the movie. My DH and I have always thought they could have done so much more with that. There is a model of Buzz's ship that the kids can stand next to for photos and there are models of the characters up on the restaurant marquee, but other than that, it really is just another fast food plce. And IMHO the pizza isn't very good. They do have salads, however, so when my DD wants to eat there I can find something.

ditto what everyone else says. Pizza Planet to us was a huge dissapointment. Not at all like the movie, and the food was NOT good.We did however see Buzz & Woody, and that was awesome!

Last week, Woody, Jessie and Bullseye were outside of a building in Frontierland - I'm guessing that was the Diamond Horseshoe review. There was quite a line, but I'm sure your daughter would just be happy to see them!

I agree... My daughter didn't even realize it was pizza planet we were eating at. Sorry to be a downer, but as Belle said it's nothing like the movie. Pizza's not that good either and I'm not a picky eater.

This was an issue for me as well. My cousin is a HUGE Jessie fan. She even made her dad dress up as Woody for Halloween. Here's what I've found.

Buzz - Toy Barn & Tomorrowland (near his ride)
Woody - Toy Barn & Diamond Horseshoe
Jessie - Toy Barn & Diamond Horseshoe
Bullseye - Diamond Horseshoe

Last I heard, Bullseye would not be at the Toy Barn anymore. 4 characters in one place makes the line pretty long. When we saw Buzz, Woody & Jessie at the Toy Barn, all 3 would sign/stamp and then all take a picture together. When we saw Woody, Jessie and Bullseye in the Diamond Horseshoe, we took one picture with Jessie and Bullseye then another picture with just Woody.

oh, i can not tell you how much i appreciate all the info! I actually searched the topic(something i usually do before i post, but got ahead of myself!) and found a lot of info that way too.

i hate that about pizza planet, but with everything else, it shouldn't matter that much. We will take one for the team and eat sucky pizza....the greek salad on the menu sounds good, though.

I just want her to be able to get at least a pic with Jesse, everything else will be gravy.

Again, thanks so much for taking time to help me plan, i am so glad i found this board....the laundry that is piling up is not so happy, but i am!!

I've never had a good pizza in Disney.
We've even tried the take out places that deliver to the rooms.
Horrible!

And I'm happy with all kinds of pizza but I can't even figure out what the cheese is they use down there.
Or sauce or ..........something.

I have no idea if this was just a random event, but my dd8 got to ride Buzz Lightyear with one of the Green Army Men once. She thought that was very cool...

I'd highly recommend going to the old Diamond Horseshow review building to see Jessie. I would go there early in the morning (9:30 - 10:00) for the best character interaction. When I was there last, the characters were still inside, and let me tell you - there was NO ONE with them. Jessie was very sweet, and took lots of time with children that wandered in.

It's much much much better than Al's Toy barn, plus it's in a nice cool area.

Happy Hunting!

I would LOVE a character meal with the Toy Story gang at MGM!!!!

Any Disney Execs Listening????

We have been to Al's Toy Barn the past two times at Disney, Jessie was there this last time, but I have never seen bullseye. The line both times was unbelievable, the absoulte worst lines in the park believe it or not!!! I have never been in frontierland. It's funny, my kids are still young, but I am going to try and avoid doing the picture with Buzz and Woody this time, just to much for us adults to take!!! Pizza Planet was terrible, I had heard good things about the pizza, and it was terrible (and I am not a picky eater) and the games stunk, If I were you I would take her in for a couple of mins. and find somewhere else to eat, like 50's cafe or sci-fi its a little more expensive, but worth the difference.
