Was looking at height restrictions on the DLP website and for ToT it says min height 40inches, so I'm sure that by either September or January DD will be tall enough to ride as shes just under 2 inches away from reaching her goal.

But when i looked at BTM it said the age min was 3 and height min 40inches, why doesnt ToT have a min age restriction? To me that ride if far more scarier than BTM.

Its just DD will be 4 weeks from turning 3 when we go in September and she keeps asking to go on the "up and down ride" so if shes tall enough will they let her on it or turn her away. Anyone been on ToT at any Disney park with a young child?

Personally I definitely wouldn't take my 3 yr old on it whatever the height restriction. But then I wouldn't even put myself on it, LOL!!!
I would imagine if there is a height restriction and she meets it they won't stop her getting on though.

I think she will be more scared of my reaction on the ride than the ride itself lol.

I would rather her ride BTM than ToT.

I would't take the girls on TOT and won't even go myself :rotfl2:

I believe she won't be scared, she's too little to get scared but guess it's for safety reasons...

You can always ask them though.

Have to admit DD is a complete speed freak but is not that keen on TOT. The only way she'll go on is if she has her ipod on and her eyes are closed. She finds the actual videos that they show prior to the actual ride more scary than the ride.

Then again it could have been me screaming my head off shouting we were all about to die that put her off!!:rotfl:

Seriously I'd recommend an adult tries it out first just so you know what to expect.

From my experience most kids love it far more than the adults - just check out the photos in the shop and you'll see what I mean;) !

I have been on ToT twice so i know what to expect. I think Kyra will probably love it. My brother thinks im insane if i let her on it, think hes just jealous because he can't go on it :rotfl2:

i have to say my sister in law went on this in May and was physically shaking when she got off, i think it was all the build up that did it, plus she didnt know what to expect... she was shaking so much and nearly hyper ventalating so much she will never go on it again! i suppose if you dont mind it that much and you think she will like it then you could always give it a go, the other side of it is that you may scare her of fast rides for life! ::yes:: we seen really young children going on and providing they are the right height then they will not stop you, there was a little boy of about 4-5 and he loved it more than any of the adults, i suppose you are more fearless at that age! :rotfl2:

my DD went on TOT at WDW when she was 5 and liked going up and down however hated the dark. I am not sure if she would of liked it at 3 though.

She was not tall enough to ride BTM when she was 3.

Don't know really. I'm definitely going on that ride in Dec but I don't think I'll let my DD (nearly 6) go on it as I know what she's like. Having said that, my friend's lil girl (who was 5ish when they went) loved it and I think she & her dad went on it a couple of times. If you think/know that Kyra will like it, then I don't see why she can't go on it?!

My DD5 rode BTM at DLP when she was 2 years old, approx 1 month before she turned 3 and loved it.

She's been on umpteen times since including once in an absolute torrential downpour when i thought they might shut the ride for 5 minutes to let the storm pass:eek:

She hasn't been on TOT at DLP yet, but did ride TOT at WDW last October when she was 4. She went on with DW and didn't like it and wouldn't go on again during that holiday. She did however ride Space and Splash mountains over and over and over again.

My DD is 4 and went on ToT twice in a row last week - loved it (obviously, or she wouldn't have gone on twice!) She jumped when the lights went out in the library, if I'd known that was coming I'd have picked her up as she can be funny about the dark, but she didn't seemt to mind too much. Of course the spoken commentary is in French, and she can't read, so she missed the story, and didn't get all the atmospherics in the boiler room, so to her it was just a funny ride that went up and down - no doubt enhanced by funny mummy screaming her head off. She went on to trash the atmosphere the second time by going 'spoooooooky! spooooo-oooky!' into my face while we waited, oops.

I did hear an 'elle est trop petite!' from another guest, but she's 5cm over the minimum height, and just loved it.

I think we will bite the bullet get her measured and if shes tall enough take her on it lol, whats the worst that can happen?:lmao:

My DD went on TOT at WDW when she was 3 (she'd have gone when she was 2 if she made the height! She spent all of the next year saying she was trying to grow tall enough to go on the 'up and down' ride) - she loved it and went on several times.

Last year though year she decided that although she loved the ride, she didn't like the 'crackly people' so she did it once then said that was enough this time.

We haven't been on the DLP one yet - does anyone know if it has the hologram family? I assume so since they are on the rides at DL and WDW.

this is great, My ds whos 4 really wants to ride tot but i thought it miht be to scary for him but it sounds like he might enjoy it ... now i jut have to see if i am brave enough to take him on.

Sure sounds like you all have some brave children!!

Although the older I get the more scared I'm becoming!!

It's like when you go skiing and are overtaken by a group of 3 year olds who are like daredevils!!

The family who you see vanish before the ride drops? Then yes you do.

My DD loved it when we got on for a test ride on her b/day in December - neither of us knew what to expect but it was fantastic, looking forward to trying it again next week.

She also found the build up ie; the corridors quite scary (and she's 11 now)but not the ride in itself ... you should see the look on her face on her face when she hears the twilight zone music!

I'm phoning childline on you Emma!!!:rotfl2: Don't even think about it!!!:rotfl: Jade (7) went on TOT the first time but couldn't stop crying before we even got on...a cast member took us all the way down again....then the next day she said she wanted to go on...and loved it??????? She was well proud of herself...

TOT is a ride you can't explain..sheer terror comes close (or am I a wimp?) There was noises coming out my mouth I didn't know I could do!....in saying that I'm gonna do it again!!:thumbsup2 Its horrible for a kid!
