They do get things right, some times. But as far as Star Wars spot on...well first they said that parts of Tomorrowland would be bulldozed to add new land. Then they said that the existing Tomorrowland would be rethemed to Star Wars land. Then they said Toon Town was going away, and they doubled down on it and said it over and over that it was absolutely certain. And when the Star Wars plans were finally announced by Disney MC continued to insist that the land would encroach on part of Toon Town and that Toon Town was going to be shrunk.
The problem is that they get their information from people at
Disneyland, many of them CM (hence all the moaning about how CM are treated). They do have some higher up "friends", but it's not like they're talking to the presidents (after all they detest upper management). I think there is truth in the things they say. But they throw out stuff before anything is official. And before it's official, anything can change.
My guess is that the Tower of Terror retheme was a real thought. The original rumor (from MC) was that it was going in both Florida and CA, but that Florida did not want it permanent. That was the last time it was mentioned as a double park thing. Now Disneyland has announced the Halloween happenings saying that TOT will be open for the haunting season, but MC is still claiming it's closing in September. I guess we'll see in the next few weeks as the schedules start to come out. But my guess is this will be like the many other rumors in that it is founded in truth, but plans changed and it won't happen.
