I just keep getting reminded that I'm really lucky that my training runs are now averaging from 75% to 98% humidity.
Doesn't sound strange at all to never warm up! I've had many training runs where I come back and my hands are icicles - even with gloves on. Running in Wisconsin isn't ideal since I'm a cold runner. Even in temps in the 60's, I still get a chill in the shade or when there's a breeze.I think 50s if the perfect running weather. The cold didn't bother me until December when I ran a half and the starting temp was 29 at 7AM, very stiff wind and the temp at 10 was.... 29. I think the windchill was low 20s. I had on long tights and a long tee, no gloves, no hat. Needless to say, I never, which I thought was wierd, never warmed up. My hands were numb for the entire race, I couldn't even grab the cups of water. Now, before a race, even when it's in the 40s or 50s I complain beforehand. Ha.
What 10K plan are you using and where does it have you? Most plans I've seen add a mile per week, with a cut back here and there, for a 10K, so going from 4 to 6 in a month doesn't sounds crazy to me.Then I am wondering if I will even be able to get to that mileage in a month. I did 4 miles the other day. Can I increase it to 6. (whatever it is) by June without killing myself or causing injury. That is way ahead of my training schedule I am going to be using.
Here in Louisiana, when you finish most runs it's like stepping out of a shower or a swimming pool, so that's not much of anything dry on you.
2010's notorious cold weather for WDW January and Princess was brutal. Warmer than WI, yes, but still cold! Let's just hope that never, ever happens again!
Due to unforeseen circumstances our trip is off for October. I get that the entry fee and and party passes are non-refundable but is there any reason I couldn't sell the passes?
Try calling run Disney and explaining the circumstances. They have been known to refund even though it says non refundable.
Update. Shot down on the refund idea but it looks like it's ok to sell off the party pass. Something is better than nothing.
If you think you may want to plan for next year you can defer your registration to next year so you won't lose it.
Yeah, I would try to defer assuming the reason you are cancelling isn't so serious it prevents you from being able to run next year. You've already paid for it, you might as well try and run it next year. Actually, I think, if I read it correctly, that you can use it any time during the year for any race. It doesn't have to be the same race. I could be wrong though.

Yea. Got the acceptance email today that they've input my daughter's information for her 10K we did last weekend. If we do another, we're looking at a 15K in late June, can I submit again if it's better?
You can resubmit up until their deadline. Good luck with the 15k!
PrincessV: I don't have a plan yet for the 10K. I am using my Runkeeper app for the ToT. I think I am going to try to find a race and run it. I did a search on usatf.org and there are no certified races in my area (in the whole state of MA for that matter) until September. That does me no good to move up. I will see what I can find that posts the results on-line and hope that qualifies.
I called, and the race does not have to be usatf certified, as long as the course has been accurately measured and is timed, and you have this proof of time you can submit to Disney for the 10 miler. I confirmed twice bc I have a race in mind and wanted to be sure. I wrote the race coordinator and have it straight from them, so Disney can see. Good luck!
Well, they had emailed me it did. It doesn't sound like they are all that consistent. It doesn't matter though because there are no certified races in my area until September, which does me no good. So, I decided to just sign up for a regular race. It's a 10K on 6/1. Worst case scenario, they don't accept it and it only serves as motivation to get more focused on my training and I get a little practice running in an actual race. It starts at Plymouth Plantation (for anyone into history) so the surroundings should be cool since I think part of it is next to the ocean.
Of course I was working out Monday, weight training, and I put some weight on my left left and something popped in my left hip. It was BURNING BAD. I can't even explain it, it isn't the socket, it is muscle. Still signed up for the race today though. I would have given up by now in the past.
I am getting so excited for October. I am just picturing that castle as I walk down main street when things get tough.
Thanks everyone!
