Are there any tours offered that you can do if you use a scooter? Anyone done any? Difficulties?

I'm assuming the segway tour is a no :lmao:

TIA

Any of them except, yes, the Segway tours. Be sure to let the reservationist know when you book the tour that you will be using an ECV (or wheelchair, for those who do) since some tours do involve stairs so minor alternate arrangements may need to be made.

I have done all the backstage tours with an ECV. You are correct, that you cannot do the Segway as you have to stand and control the machine by your body motion.

Legally you do not have to even give advance notice. However, if you let them know you will be sure to get a lift-equipped vehicle for the tour and they will be ready for you. One time I was on a tour and there were more people with ECVs than the tour was able to handle, and they had to rush to get a van for the extra people since they did not know about the extras, which inconvenienced everyone else on the tour, including those of us in ECVs who did let them know in advance.

If you want to do the Behind The Seeds tour, because of sharp corners and such it is not accessible for the Disney ECV's but having a standard three-wheel I have never had a problem (and I tend to do that tour at least once a year with out of town firends or relatives).

On our last trip my husband and I took several tours. We weren't using scooters, but I remember there were others who did. On one particular tour we were accompanied by a lady who needed the scooter due to endurance issues. She could stand up and walk short distances, but needed to ride to cover the distances we traveled on the tour and to keep up with everyone else. She had never operated a scooter before that morning and had problems steering it, especially to turn around and to park. I'm also not sure whether the speed control on that particular scooter was not working properly, or it was just the lady's inexperience, but she had trouble controllng the speed. While the scooter made it possible for this lady to participate in the tour, her lack of experience in operating one (and the possible mechanical problem with the scooter) took away from her enjoyment of the experience.

I would recommend that someone planning to use a scooter have the opportunity to practice with it somewhere before embarking on a must-keep-up activity such a tour.

This opens up so many possibilities for me :goodvibes I'll be sure to mention the scooter when I book the tour.

Thanks so much for all the information. :flower3:

On the Disneyland side, I have done the Walk in Walt's Footstep tour in a scooter with no problem. Everyone was very accomodating.
