Is there anyone out there that has signed up for this? I was wondering if the touring plans are any good? Thanks for the help!

We use them in combination with TourGuide Mike. They really do work.

Do they only work if you go 30 minutes before opening? What about going to the parks late? Or in the afternoons?

They have touring plans that start for days you want to sleep in (touring plan starts around 11am). They also have plans for the EMH (Extra Magic Hour) evenings and I did see one plan for afternoon. We used the plans during our trip 6/22 to 7/2/06 and they worked pretty well, especially the ones that start at park opening (longest wait was 5 minutes in the morning).

Next trip I will try Tour Guide Mike just to see if it's any better (also to help out a DISboard sponsor).

Do the sleep-in or afternoon touring plans work just as well as the early morning ones? Are the waits just as short? Anyone try them?

We used the sleep in touring plans for some of the days we were there and it worked out pretty well. The wait was no more than 20 to 30 minutes.

I have the book and paid for the website- this is before the DIS and I had never heard of tour guide mike. We will be going in OCT. and using the touring guides for the first time. I can't seem to find anywhere how long you should expect for an average tour. I know it varies on weather, crowds, days of the week- but it would still be good to have a ballpark. It's good to read that people use them and they work pretty well though! THanks

We also have the book and paid for the site. The plans have been helpful in the planning phase. We go in early December, so if the crowds are indeed lower, the plans may not be as relevant. But, I was trying to use it as a guide to how much could be done, and cut it back from there as DD will be 4 then.

DW and I tried the touring plans last year week before Christmas. While we werent there when they suggest (30 min b4 park open - we were there usually no later than 30 min past open) they did work spectacularly well. I was very impressed - we did more last year than in our previous 2 trips combined.

DevilDog, we are going the same time you went, the week before Christmas, and I'm encouraged about your experience with the touring plans. I'm afraid we won't be able to get there half an hour before opening either, since we are coming from the West Coast (three hours behind) and the kids may have a hard time adjusting to the time difference.
