Touring the Tower of Terror and other Ghoulish Delights! Sept 13 TR | FINALx2 4/17!!!

Finally getting caught up. :) I have to agree with everyone that you and Matt are just too adorable....love the "bonus" wedding info!

Scary outlet adventure. We usually take a day and rent a car to visit Aarons grandma and seriously going off site stinks...even for outlet deals. Not worth it.

Totally obsessed with going to MNSSHP so I can't wait to hear about the rest of the night. I LOVE how everyone is just taking pictures with each other. Something I have to do some time soon!

I don't know if it is typical but we got the magic shot with the hitch hiking ghosts at DL in July! We didn't ask or anything....(I had hoped when we did the hitchhiker pose that that is what that meant but she didn't tell us or lead us to believe she was doing it). It would be pretty epic to have it from both parks! ;)

Dani & Matt, I have to join the chorus of "I LOVE your wedding, you are the cutest couple, ever!" And I hope you get a chuckle out of my stupidity... I scanned thru the pics before reading your trip report because I was curious to see your Halloween costumes & at first glance I thought your were a Haunted Mansion themed coffin???? I think I just read the Tomb Sweet Tomb on front & didn't process it as a picture on a wall at first. Anyway, I love your costume. Thank you for sharing your awesome vacation stories with us!

YAYAYAYAYAYAYY MNSSHP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :hmghost: I miss it too much.

It's just so funny to look at you and instead of seeing a human body shape, see the Haunted Mansion wall. LOL. Really an ingenious costume and Matt is adorable as Ralph. You did a wonderful job on the medal.

Kevin from Up! That's a great costume idea. I like that it's a girly version of Kevin too... so creative.

In all of my parties I have never met the Pooh characters. I've tried but their sets are always so short! >:O

OMG those people in Storybook Circus dressed as the Mansion portraits! THAT IS SO COOL. It's weird, in 2012 at all of my parties I saw a TON of Haunted Mansion-themed costumes, especially various ghosts... but in 2013 when I was the ballroom dancer, I saw NO ONE! I would have taken pictures with literally every ghost. I was so pumped about my costume LOL. I need to do it again, it was just so fun. I actually want to plan a trip with 3 parties and do 1 in my Mickey Mouse costume from 2012, 1 in a re-design of the ballroom dancer costume, and 1 in a new costume. MNSSHP TRIP PLEASE HAPPEN.

CARLOTTA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh man she was obsessed with my costume but we figured that would happen. She was AMAZING.

Did i already tell you your costumes were amazing? I can't remember, but either way, I just love them. I love that your friends joined in on the Wreck It Ralph theme! I love group costumes.

I'm totally dying over the Pooh and friends photos. HOW FREAKING CUTE. Ugh they all just look so soft and cuddly and on top of that ugh their costumes. I just love it. I LOVE IT.

I love all of your updates. All that is running through my head right now is I LOVE THAT AND THIS AND I LOVE THAT TOO, so I won't list them all for you.
I DO want to say though, that I really appreciate how much you get the full castle in all your photos. It kind of drives me nuts when people cut off the top (even though I know it can't be avoided sometimes ) and I love that your attention to that (whether it's inteneded or not :goodvibes)

ETA:
*THIS WAS MY 500TH POST! IM A DIS VET NOW!*

Ugh, it's been way too long since I've commented (because I know you were waiting with baited breath...) but I was down for the count with a flu earlier and just didn't get around to much of anything!

LOVE LOVE the MNSSHP costumes, what a great idea. I adore creative Halloween costumes and do not like people who refuse to dress up for Halloween, regardless of age. That fabric was such an awesome find for you but that sucks about the string...it's always annoying when there's just one little thing that won't go right!

I'm so glad you guys finally got to do MNSSHP so you could see HM in all its spooky (er) glory since Matt loves it so. We just hung around HM for a bit too when we were there because there was so much to see.

That's a bummer about the candy corn ice cream, but I'm glad you reported on it as I'll know that it's not a "must" when we are there in October. The last thing I need to do is waste precious Disney sugar overload on something just "meh".

Did you have trouble getting on rides with the costume? I'm assuming we'll see more and that you mainly did low-key things since it was the party, but I'm wondering how a big costume like that would affect riding ability as I'm considering a few things for October.

Looking forward to reading about you getting your face melted off by Hallowishes...I too feel that I had a creepy oversized Joker-esque smile on my face the entire show because it was so cool.

Also Karl Pilkington is amazing.

That's all.

D'OH she beat me here again. Dani great update. I never thought I would be one to say "hey that parade is great make sure you don't miss it" I pretty much make the face Matt makes when he watches daytime parades. But that "Boo to you" parade is pretty awesome, can't wait to see you pics from that!

And I really can't even speak about that fireworks display they put on for Halloween

When my DW suggested we go to MMNSSHP I was pretty skeptical. "You want to pay how much more to go to a park we already paid to get into? And I have to dress up in a costume?!!??! Nope...."

Well of course she won, and of course she was right. it was awesome!

I love that your costume is not so on the nose. Not that Matt's wasn't cool. He really makes a pretty good Ralph with out having to try so much, which is awesome.

Pretty sure my DW just read your update then started skyping with me about what we were going to dress up as for our October trip. We will have to spend some time to try and think of something good. Last time we dressed as Imagineers. We had a similar ride to the park, where people kept looking at us with some concern. At MK not too many people knew what we were dressed up as. I think they just assumed we were dressed as construction workers, which would normally be fine for Halloween, but why would you dress that way at WDW's Halloween party? We did get quite a few CM's who got the idea and we actually fooled a couple to the point that they thought something had broke down where they worked. It was pretty freakin fantastic in my book

So Beaches and Cream...Think we are trying that place out this time for lunch, Is the burger really worth it? we don't do the DDP and we like to eat at Disney and understand why some of the food is so high in price, I just hope the beaches and Cream hamburger is better than some of the QS burgers I've gotten at WDW. (well I just looked at cosmic rays which I did not like and it was ten bucks so...) well it's moot we are going and if it is bad I won't repeat. I more interested in the milkshake anyway

Keep up the postin and thanks for the update

Great costumes!!! And so cool about the tweet!

Not so cool about the pukey kid though

Those costumers on Pooh n' pals are adorable!! :lovestruc

Hi Dani,

We (my daughter and I) are LOVING your TR! I was there at the same time at a conference and was hoping to see you, but no luck. I did see Jen and family and introduced myself (at MNSSHP). Anyway, thank you for your TR's, I love your writing, humor, honestly, and share your love of all things Disney.

I saw this just now on the Disneystore website and thought of you and rembered you were looking for DVC member clothing:
http://www.disneystore.com/disney-v...ong-sleeve-tee-for-adults/mp/1352289/1000228/

Happy Valentine's day!:flower3:
Erin

Gahh, it just all looks like too much fun! It's awesome that your costume got so much attention.

Can I just say, the Winnie the Pooh characters in their Halloween costumes... CUTEST thing I've ever seen!

Yeah, so I'm kind of a horrible friend for being this far behind. I literally dropped off the face of the Dis planet for a long time there. I went through and read all I've missed, and wow...I just miss you guys so much! We've never met anyone who treats our wild crew like you do. I'm just so happy we're friends. (Sappy moment over, I promise! )

Also, kudos to you for a sneaky BBB shot. I really had no clue you were there before I found you. Bravo, lady!

I'm not going to comment on all the updates since there were so many, but I promise I'm going to be a better friend and better DISer now and read them as they come up. And if I don't notice, your stalker Brandon will and he'll make sure I read right away.:thumbsup2

You're not a horrible friend at all! Trust me, I completely understand! I've had a few times where I just wasn't feeling like DISing, too. It gets hard when you're not QUITE at the point of planning your next trip. Anyway, we miss you guys, too! And thank you again for the grits, Matt is OBSESSED with them and gets sad because they're so hard to find here.

Hahah, it was just such a random thing to walk in and see the kids right there!

And that sounds good. I'm trying to keep this TR going as I'd like to get my Disneyland one written and posted before our next trip in September!

I am still in awe of your costumes. Still. I had no idea about you going to First Aid, though! :rotfl2: I knew the pictures were giving you problems, but somehow missed that part of the story! They are always very helpful in there, and I'm sure they've had stranger requests!

Speaking of First Aid, ugh, poor little sick boy at the party! Trust me, I feel his pain. Losing your lunch at MNSSHP is about the worse place that it can happen. I just want to give him a big hug...ya know, now that he's cleaned up and stuff...been there, done that, buddy!

I'm not surprised so many people wanted pictures with you/videos of you. It has to be one of the most creative costumes ever.

Danni and Johnny's photobombing is superb. They've taken it to the next level. I love how their costumes matched Matt's.

Two words: FAKE. CHEESE. :cool1:

I'm glad we got to see you, at least for a bit, that night. And you have a great memory--Brynn most certainly was on a mission to meet Cruella! And thanks to Danni telling us where to get in line, we were able to do just that!

I had a much better party experience this year than the year we were trying to erase from our memories, and you guys are a part of why!

Haha thanks! And yeah, I had no idea where to go for duct tape. They didn't have it, but they at least tried to help!

I know, I felt bad for that kid, he just stood there all covered in it. It was a bummer. I still feel bad that you had to go through that, too! Nothing worse than being wicked sick in Disney.

Thank you! I had a lot of fun getting photos with people and whatnot, now I know what it kind of feels like to be a celebrity, clearly.

That fake cheese is the best! So many reasons to love Casey's Corner.

I know! I'm glad this wasn't the last time we saw you, either! And SO happy that your party experience was better than before!! You guys deserved a fun time!

Haha, I've heard so many stories about people in costume being the only ones at the bus stop in full costume. I say just go with it. They're the oddballs in this scenario.

Oh man the Wreck It Ralph gang looks so great. Funny that the treat bag from 2012 was... Wreck It Ralph before anybody knew who they were.

I LOVE THE HAUNTED MANSION PARTY CM'S!!! They just look so ghoulish. So great.

Curious, how did riding things work with your costume??

Haha, that's so cool that you were in a video!!!!!

OK so is she like the bird from FotLK???? Because, that's awesome!

HAHAHAHAHA YES!!!! This is me during all random photos...

excitedguy.gif

Awww I adore the Pooh gang costumes!! They may be my fav character outfits of all. I mean c'mon, POOH IS DRESSED AS TIGGER!!

Oh I could easily just watch Madame Carlotta and be thoroughly entertained. Just so funny.

Hahaha, it's so true, but it was hilarious getting looks from people. I think because it was just barely 4 o'clock, and most people weren't showing up until later for the party? Either way, it was slightly awkward.

I know! Disney has a knack for releasing merchandise for their movies BEFORE anyone has any idea who they are/if they even like it. Like they did with Frozen merch/Vinylmation. They were out months before the movie was released, and everyone waited on buying stuff until they saw it and loved it. Oh Disney.

The CMs are awesome over near the HM, I was happy I got a photo with one.

OH! So I totally forgot to mention that... It was actually really easy. I just took the curtain rod off my shoulders! So then the costume just draped over my shoulders and it was like I was wearing a poncho. Hence why that curtain rod idea was brilliant! My husband is a genius.

Yeah, I was excited! I just thought it was funny that people saw it and were telling me they saw me in the video!

She's actually Kevin from Up! I thought it was a pretty awesome take on him. :)

I figured you'd enjoy that round of random photos, because, duh, haha.

They are super adorable! I think Pooh is actually a Bumble Bee, though he DEFINITELY looks like Tigger because of the color of his shirt and stripes, hahaha. It's kind of weird it's more of an orange.

Madame Carlotta is amazing. She was a huge part of why I loved standing around the HM so much!

DSC_0334_zps6de25a67.jpg

I DIDNT KNOW THIS PICTURE EXISTED.

omg. HAHAHAHAHHAHAHA.

I don't even have words for this update, because I am just so blown away by our super attractive faces.

HAHAHAHA all of the photos/video on the PeopleMover were hilarious. But that one is the best.

Darn that Florida humidity! It ruins hair and costumes! I'm glad that the CMs at First Aid were so helpful, even if their fix didn't last. It's totally the thought that counts! :)

OOoooooooOOOOOOH! I didn't know there were special PP spots during MNSSHP! Tucking away that little nugget of knowledge for future reference...

Candy on ice cream is no fun because it's always hard! It's a good thought because candy is good and ice cream is good, but there's some technical difficulties when they combine. Sad panda.

I know! It was the thought that counted, they were so nice and tried their best to help!

YES! There are three different shots you can get near the Haunted Mansion during the party. I think we missed the 3rd one, but now of course I can't remember.

Yeah, it was kind of disappointing! But the ice cream itself as good, so I just ate around the candy corn, haha.

It would be pretty epic to have it from both parks! ;)

Aww thank you so much!

The outlets were noooot fun, no thanks, never again.

Yeah, you are going to have a ton of fun! People were friendly while waiting in lines, so lots of photo-taking commenced!

OOOOH I didn't know this info about DLR! We don't do the PhotoPass when we're there since our stay is so short, but that is kind of awesome/I might have to look into getting at least THAT photo taken. I so agree, it would be awesome to have it from both parks!!

Thank you so much! And that's really funny that you thought I was a coffin, hahahaha. I think only people who REALLY know the Haunted Mansion pretty well would get it. But thank you again!!

Obsessed with the magic shots outside the HM!!! Both of your costumes were great!

I love those Magic shots, they're amazing and I love that they offer them! And thank you!

CARLOTTA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh man she was obsessed with my costume but we figured that would happen. She was AMAZING.

I KNEW YOU'D BE EXCITED!!!

Hahaha thank you though! I had so much fun making that medal, it was fun doing something a bit creative. I need to make more Fimo clay-type stuff!

I know, I really loved her costume and how she made it her own. It was pretty impressive.

AWW really?! THEY ARE SO CUTE. I love them so much. But I could see their sets being super short... wompwomp.

I know, I was really so happy I ran into them and they asked for a photo! It totally made my day. I didn't see a ton of HM costumes at the party, which I found surprising! I think your plan for a 3-party trip sounds awesome and that would be so much fun to do your previous costumes plus I new one! I hope this happens!

Carlotta was the best, so so funny! I can't remember what she said to me but it had me rolling. I could have listened to her all night, hahaha.

You guys make the party seem like so much fun! I wonder if people on the bus with you didn't realize that there was MNSSHP or realize that people go in costumes. They must've been trying to figure you guys out!

LOVE the costumes! I especially love yours because it's so Disney-esque but still leaning more towards the obscure side. That picture with the other two who had Haunted Mansion costumes was great!

Ninja Dani!!!! She's back!! Cleverly disguised as harmless wallpaper!!!

Haha, yes she is! You would never know there was a human in there, I swear.

Well thank you very much! I am a big fan of group costumes as well, so I was happy they did one!

I KNOW, they were SO adorable and totally worth the wait! Seriously. I'm so glad we met them and got photos together.

Hahaha thank you so much! And yes, I ALWAYS try to get the full photo of the castle. I think it's so beautiful, it deserves to be shown in all its glory! Sometimes it's hard when I'm using my prime lens because it's a little more zoomed in, but overall, I always try! Hahaha.

YES TO BEING A DIS VET!!

I am loving the trip report. You take great pics :thumbsup2

Aw thank you! That is such a nice compliment, I'm glad you're enjoying my TR!

That's all.

It's okay! I myself am coming down with a head cold, and my Mom is visiting right now, so I'm trying to squeeze in responses before I'm too busy/too sick! But here's hoping this cold goes away quickly.

Thank you so much! The costume was a success, even with the stupid string not wanting to cooperate in the Florida humidity!

Yeah, that in itself was worth going to the party! We loved spending time around the HM that night.

It was still very good, I mean, Disney ice cream is fabulous, but it wasn't what I was expecting! Don't call it Candy Corn Ice cream unless it's got that flavor, ya know?

Haha, someone else asked the same question. In Matt's brilliant moment of suggesting the curtain rod, it was extremely easy to take it off of my shoulders and then just screw it back in and make it short again! So whenever we want on something like the Haunted Mansion, I just took it out while we were on it.

Hahaha, that was basically my reaction to the fireworks!

KARL IS AMAZING. Seriously, he cracks me up so much!

D'OH she beat me here again. Dani great update. I never thought I would be one to say "hey that parade is great make sure you don't miss it" I pretty much make the face Matt makes when he watches daytime parades. But that "Boo to you" parade is pretty awesome, can't wait to see you pics from that!

Keep up the postin and thanks for the update

Haha, thank you so much! The Boo to You Parade is on a whole different level! And thankfully he likes Main Street Electrical Parade, because I ADORE that parade so much!

I LOVE that you guys went as Imagineers!! That is such an awesome and creative idea... and awesome that CMs thought you were actual Imagineers, hahaha.

Beaches and Cream is always worth a trip! We didn't do the Dining Plan on this trip and I wouldn't use a DDP credit on it anyway since it's pretty cheap. There is something just special about their cheeseburgers, and I love the onion rings there, too. I'd say at least give it a shot! It's got an awesome location, good food, good ice cream, and an awesome ambience to it!

Thanks again for the wonderful comment, I always look forward to yours and your wife's!!

Great costumes!!! And so cool about the tweet!

Not so cool about the pukey kid though

Those costumers on Pooh n' pals are adorable!! :lovestruc

Thanks so much!

Yeah, I just felt bad for the kid. I can't imagine that was much fun.

OMG, the costumes were beyond cute. I think I died when I met them!

Erin

Oh my gosh, YAY! I'm so glad you guys are reading and enjoying... but too bad we didn't see you, especially at MNSSHP!! And thank you for the wonderful compliment. :goodvibes

I saw that when DVC posted about it! I wanted a hoodie but already have TWO grey Disney hoodies, so I'm kind of bummed out the DVC hoodie isn't in a different color! They need more merchandise in general though. But I do also like that long sleeve shirt... and it IS 25% off right now, hmmmmm. ;)

Hope you had a fabulous Valentine's Day!

Gahh, it just all looks like too much fun! It's awesome that your costume got so much attention.

Can I just say, the Winnie the Pooh characters in their Halloween costumes... CUTEST thing I've ever seen!

It was a lot of fun. And oh my gosh, when they walked out I think I screamed like a 5 year old. They were SO SO cute. And so worth the wait!

It WAS a lot of fun! But we also went into it with a plan of like.. 3 Must-Dos, and anything else we fit in was a bonus! That made it way more enjoyable instead of running around trying to fit 3843894 things into our schedule.

Yeah, the people were just honestly clueless. I'm guessing they had no idea what the party entailed exactly, haha, oh well.

Thanks so much. I was so happy those two saw me and we got a photo together. I thought we looked pretty awesome together, haha.

Dani, let me stress that you had an awesome costume & I only thought it was a coffin at first glance. I only hope my ditzy moment made you laugh!

I don't usually post much, but love following your trip reports. Not sure if I found yours via fantasyland mom or vice versus. But love both your report styles. So knowing I read both of your trip reports, hopefully this won't seem so stalker like.

I had to watch the whole video of you in the costume because we are planning our first fall trip this year and wanted to get an idea of costumes and such. So Jenn and her family are in the video too! Actually Jenn was dressed up so well I didn't even pick her out first, but saw her husband and kids.

Ok stalking done for today.

Yay for MNSSHP! I miss it so much!! Man, the party on the 13 TH that I went to solo I was the only one dressed up at the bus stop for a while and it was super awks lol!

Love the shots on/from the peoplemover! Seriously such a great time, and love all the costumes!! Ahahahaha the “serious face” is priceless! Love that your costume got so much attention from the costume, it really does make it feel a lot more worth it, especially with those more rare finds of costumes!

Imma watch the video after reading the rest of the update!

Awwe, sad that your costume didn’t deal with humidity very well, I always have to think about that kind of stuff when putting costumes together, like, how hot is it going to be, is humiditiy going to kill it? WHAT IF IT RAINS ?!?! (fairy wings and ponchos do not go together very well!)

Love the shots in the WtP line/with them, that gang is so cute, they’re always a blast to meet!! Lol. I can’t wait to see full photos of Jenn & family’s costumes! I definitely had part in coming up with that idea lol!

Awesome HM costume pic! I really do love when people do the more obscure costumes that you don’t really see as much!

Awwweee….sad about the ice cream!! I wanted to try so many of the treats at the party but just never got around to it at all! I’m always worried that I’m going to spill ALL over my costumes lol.

Love love LOVE the shots of HM at the party! So GREAT!!

Tagging this for the Tower of Terror story -- one of my favorite rides! But sticking around for the awesome funny trip report. :)

Chapter 40: GRIM GRINNING GHOSTS COME OUT TO SOCIALIIIIIIZE!
Day Seven: September 17th, 2013

So as I left off, we were heading back towards Main Street to find a spot to watch the fireworks and parade.

We of course walked through Frontierland's bridge to the hub and had to stop near the castle for photos. I LOVED the castle during MNSSHP. The colors were fantastic and I wish I could have taken 8 bajillion photos of it, but we were kind of on a time crunch. WOMPWOMP.

On our way to Main Street to find a spot, a group of CMs stopped me and we chatted about my costume. One of the guys even knew exactly where I'd bought my fabric from (spoonflower), which was funny. They seemed to appreciate the costume as whole though, which made me happy!

We moved on and plopped ourselves down on Main Street, and just hung out for a bit and people-watched.

Matt decided to go and get us popcorn, and after a slight wait, he came back with an awesome Hatbox Ghost Mickey Mouse popcorn container.

While we hung out, this little girl and two women came over to us and were going NUTS over my costume. It was so cute; the girl just kept saying "We LOVE your costume. It's just amazing!" and the ladies were asking me where I'd found the fabric. Needless to say, the costume had been a huge hit at the party, which was totally fantastic. And I also adored the little girl for knowing exactly what my costume was referring to. She was the cutest.

We watched Celebrate the Magic while eating our popcorn, and it was fabulous as always! They'd added the Villains section to it, which was definitely cool to see. This wasn't just for the Halloween party though, as I'd caught it the other night when we were at the Dessert Party.

After Celebrate the Magic was over, HalloWishes started... and we heard the Ghost Host.

...

OH MY GOD. Chills.

This was THE best fireworks show I'd ever seen in the parks, hands down. I mean, it was just unreal.

I seriously was watching it with my jaw on the ground and was totally amazed by it.

The soundtrack was absolutely fantastic (and the fact it started with Grim Grinning Ghosts was just absolutely perfect), and seeing that Matt LOVES Nightmare Before Christmas, he was definitely happy about it, too. I remember LOVING the "This is Halloween" section.

Those perimeter fireworks? That's when I got chills aaaagain. No one does fireworks better than Disney, that's for sure. And this was no exception.

If you need one reason to go to MNSSHP, this is it. HalloWishes is worth it. It is mind-blowingly amazing. Even Matt, who isn't a huge fireworks person, thought it was amazing.

After the fireworks ended, we didn't want to lose our seats for the parade, so we sat back down on the sidewalk to wait for the second parade of the night.

Oh! While we were waiting for the parade, Katt (katt789) found us and said hello! It was so good to finally meet her, too! I always love meeting DIS friends, for sure. :)

I was feeling a little bummed out that we were running out of time and didn't get a chance to try the Pumpkin Waffle they'd been serving over at Sleepy Hollow... but then said the heck with it and RAN across Main Street and ninja-moved my way through the crowds to go and get us one! NINJA DANI STRIKES AGAIN... in her costume. And don't worry, no children were whacked in the face by the curtain rod in my costume. I was smart enough and removed it. Though looking back, I should have kept it in to clear out the crowds... Hmmm..

Of course, the line was a bit long at Sleepy Hollow, and I was getting nervous I wouldn't be able to make it back in time for the parade. Thankfully, my waffle came out rather quickly and I darted back over to our seats so we could dig in to what looked like an amazing treat.

THIS WAS SO GOOD! Sooooo good. The waffle was delicious and the powdered sugar had pumpkin added to it. With the vanilla ice cream... it was the PERFECT treat to enjoy at MNSSHP. Seriously, and it was perfect to split, too! Oh my gosh, that was definitely the hit of the night for us at that party.

We ate really quickly and had to move our feet up on the sidewalk for the Headless Horseman... which I was SUPER excited to see! I'd heard so many people talk about it, but I had no idea HOW COOL this was until we saw it first-hand and up-close. I mean, seriously... It was just so cool to have the Headless Horseman trot by us, carrying the pumpkin head!

I took video of this, which is in our trip video, but sadly, no photos of it since I was videoing. I'm guessing Matt had photos, but I don't have them, wompwomp. BUT the Headless Horseman was just the perfect way to get everyone excited for the Boo to You Parade.

If you are planning to do MNSSHP and want to see the parade, it is HIGHLY suggested you park your booty in a good spot a while before the parade, ESPECIALLY because you do not want to miss the Headless Horseman. It's one of the coolest things they do, but occurs at least 15 minutes before the parade begins.

After the Headless Horseman, some "Creepy Crawlers Crew" or something like that came out and started just dancing. It was such a weird thing, but they needed crowd entertainment while we waited for the parade... I don't think it was Creepy Crawlers, hahaha... Maybe Creep Crew? I have no idea, but it was a random jam session on Main Street and I just wanted the darn parade to show up...

FINALLY we started to hear "BOO.... TO YOU... AND TRICK... OR TREAT..." and the parade had begun!

Now up until this point, I made EVERY effort possible to not listen to the Boo to You soundtrack or even really look at photos of the parade. I wanted it to all be brand new to me. Let me just say that I became obsessed with the soundtrack. Matt and I found ourselves constantly singing it both during and after our trip. In fact, we played the soundtrack on loop for our trick or treaters on Halloween this year at our house, haha. We were big fans of it!

The parade itself was really fun! We had some great interactions with characters, and I even got a kiss from Liverlips from Country Bear Jamboree (which you see in our trip video). I was just so mad at myself about not bringing my better lens, because my photos kind of suffered and so did my video.

Lesson learned: the kit lens for a DSLR is absolute poop for night time shooting. NEVER AGAIN.

I REALLY loved the Haunted Mansion Ballroom Dancers and the graveyard shovelers. They were ESPECIALLY into their parts... as one of them drooled all over the place, like a ghoulie dead person probably would do. It was kind of disgusting, but props to the dude for being so into it, too. I'm just glad he didn't drool all over me.

The one thing that had me baffled though.. well actually, there were a few things.

Number one, WHY did they make the Hitchhiking Ghosts all robotic in the parade? I mean, are they supposed to be animatronic? I just didn't necessarily get that, and still don't... I mean, if anything, they could just be on their float hitchhiking. I don't know, I just didn't understand their robotic movements.

Also, the cowboy section of the parade kills me. It's SO random, but it cracked me up, haha.

Oh, and I LOVED the Pirates section and the Boo to You version of "Yo Ho"... again, that parade song is amazing.
