Touring strategy and EMH effect on the day

We are a family of 5, children ages 4 - 11.
I am trying to come up with a strategy for our visit August 11 - 16.
I am trying to decide which parks to visit on which days. I figure the crowds will be pretty heavy.

Should we stay away from parks on EMH days unless we are going to make use of those hours ? Will the park be extra crowded for the rest of the day and should we move on to a different park for the remainder of the day ?
When a park has extra hours in the evening is it extra crowded all day leading up to the evening ?

I am not looking for someone to plan out our day once in the park, although I would love to hear any tips on how to make the best use of our time.
I would really like some input on which parks to attend on which day
in terms of crowd management.

We arrive the evening of Friday, August 11 and will go to a park that evening.
We leave Thursday, August 17 and will not go to a park that day.

Thanks for any and all help.

If you are not going to use the EMH time, by all means avoid that park and pick one of the others. even if you ARE going to use the time, especially mornings, get a park hopper and leave when the park starts to fill up because it WILL be more crowded that day.

I amazed at the folks who just "never go" to EMH's.

I always go to AM EMH (virtually every day of the trip that we did not do a PM EMH late the night before)... never ONCE regretted an AM EMH... they are amazingly empty and easy to ride the open attractions.
If that park THEN starts to fill 2 to 3 hours later... WHO CARE'S? Were DONE and we can HOP elsewhere or do lunch and take a rest until later.

PM EMH's are a mixed bag. I've been when they were PACKED... but on other nights, they were just like the AM's... "free rides" on all the open attractions.

And considering its FREE to go... if its busy, just people-watch or hit the exit (where ELSE are ya gonna go at 10pm, anyway?)
But if its not busy... you're ALL SET for EXTRA FUN!

I can't see the problem.
