I was wondering how many people take breaks in the middle of the day and return to the parks at night. We will be going Easter 2004. Although this is our 5th trip, we have never returned to the hotel for a break (and we have always stayed onsite). Our kids are 12 and 8 and I'd like to get some thoughts about this. (Staying at POR - I think - although I am alittle worried about the rehab)

We take breaks every day and I believe it is the key to having a "vacation" rather than "going to a theme park".

We get to the park before opening, leave after lunch (about 1pm) and go back to our hotel. There, we put on bathing suits and head for the pool. We get drinks, go for a swim, look around the giftshop, and take a nap in our room. Around 4pm, we shower and dress (pack 2 outfits per day) and head to anothr park. A lot of people are leaving at this time and the lines are quite short. We ride, have dinner, see a parade, fireworks, etc.

Also, keep POR. If they are closed completely at that time, you MAY be offered an upgrade. My mom stayed at BWI because of POFQ closing and had a GREAT time!

We almost always leave midday. Usually to hit a waterpark or the pool. Last trip it rained constantly, so we just went back to the room and took a snooze. It really helps break up the day and you get to see and take part in so much more in the World. There's nothing like laying by the hotel pool with a cold drink just soaking up the sun and the Disney magic.:D

Definately go for the mid day break, but make sure that the pool will be up and running. The ages that your kids are, the pool will probably one of the highlights of their trip.

How does everyone leave the park, get back to the hotel, change into swim clothes, swim, take a nap, shower and/or redress and be ready to head back to the parks in three hours? (assuming 1p to 4p).
