Has anyone used disney tourist blog touring plans. I'm familiar with TP's but was wondering if the blogs plans are better, useful.

I've used some of DTB recommended itineraries to help with G+ when the system was first in use and needed some recommendations for one day itineraries. It was fairly helpful and allowed me a little bit of an edge when the system was newer. I think they could still be beneficial however, do keep in mind, he and his wife test this as one person, not a family trying to navigate the ins and outs. I found some of his recommendations a little overzealous even before I went, since it's easy to run all over creation when you're by yourself, not fun when you're with a group of ppl and tbh, not how we usually tour parks. He sometimes acknowledges his criss crossing and poorly planned navigation in the interest of maximizing G+ but the recommended itineraries aren't usually as ambitious. He will also usually update them based on G+/iLL$ changes.

I still use TP as it's more interactive based on my own recommendations and selections but I like using a few resources and tools to help plan.

I haven't. I have used the unofficial guide touring plans and they were incredible. Let's not forget these are calculated by a computer algorithm which has had goodness knows how much data fed into it - probably hundreds of thousands pieces over the years. It is also being constantly updated by fresh data. Totally customisable based on the date, time you arrive, ride choices, lunch choices. I cannot believe anything would be better.

Never used it. If you have been to Disney many times before, you already know where your favorite rides/shows are located and which ones you have no interest in doing. If you are new to Disney, you won't know any of that since everything is new for you. In either case, I don't see the point in some 3rd party trying to map out where to walk and when. Disney has access to data they likely don't provide to any 3rd party. However, even with the Disney plans, by the time you walk to some other area of the park to take advantage of a ride with supposedly shorter wait times, things could have changed.

We never found that zigzagging all over the park accomplishes much and you tend to get worn out faster from all of the extra walking.

Do you mean the prioritized genie+ lists from their blogs?

I love touring plans (best value of anything I purchase for WDW), but do find sometimes they will recommend the option that has you not using a genie+ (or FP+ prior) which is usually a mistake.

I usually use the website to get a rough idea, but always use the genie+ (again, FP+ recommendations last time I used it) for top tier rides regardless of what the optimize function gives me.

Their blog posts for genie+ priorities are accurate imo, so it's how I plan to use them.
