Touring Plans vs. easyWDW

I'm sure this topic has been discussed to death, but I'd like some fresh perspective. We're going to WDW during the kids' spring break, mid-March.

I know it's a really busy time but I'm not too worried. We always have a plan. I've been using touringplans.com and the Unofficial Guide for years. However, I recently discovered Josh and easyWDW. I like his unscientific, explanatory approach and I've heard he's pretty accurate.

However, his advice and the advice of TP are often contradictory. For example, on Sunday March 16th TP lists Magic Kingdom as a "Best Park" while Josh has it as "Not Recommended."

Anyone care to weigh in on this? I'm trying to make sure I have the best possible plan going into this really busy week. Thank you in advance for your help.

For best days/best park use, I prefer Easy. I have only planned in-park touring once, with my grandkids earlier this year. I found TP good for that.

TouringPlans is good for an itinerary.
Easy is a more direct reading for best park.

I can't speak to easy WDW since I haven't used it but I have faithfully used Touring plans 5 years running and we never wait more than 15 minutes for anything. Plus the ability to change your itinerary on the App while in the parks, and with one button re-optimize your plan based on the changes you have made, is awesome.

Last year I looked at both. I even subscribed to Touring Plans. With Easy I simply followed his park days and some of the advice he provided. Which in turn made having my Touring Plans subscription useless since I never once had to use it by following Josh's advice. We are going again next December and Easy is the only way for us.

We always use easywdw for the best park days - Josh knows what he's talking about for sure! We're definitely using him again for our next trip, too (March 2014)...I don't even look at any other "best days" sites.

We swear by EasyWDW - love all this advice and suggestions and following his crowd calendars has been SO useful in dodging crowds.

If I want to plan a day in the parks, I use touringplans. :thumbsup2

If I want to pretend to be an alcoholic curmudgeon, I use easyWDW. :duck:

(Yes, Josh, haters gonna hate--so I do. :wizard:)

Easywdw makes waaay more sense to me. UT is overkill. That being said, I was curious and signed up for UT just to see what it is all about. Eh...fun to play around with the plans, but not all rides/information are current.

Josh (easy) seems much more up to date than UT. His maps and cheat sheets are wonderful!

i have found that none are 100% accurate. i rely on about a 50/50 split of my dog Billy and his predictions as well as a ouija board. I am starting a website called notsoeasywdwtouringplans.com where i confuse my paid customers with mathematical equations and scientology based park predictions.

Isn't mentioned here but we've always used Tour Guide Mike. There was a time when I heard he wasn't updating the site as often as he did, but we still used him without incident on our last trip in Nov 2012.

Just a thought. He has only failed us for one day during our last 5-6 trips.

Stay away from Tour Guide Mike.

This. I used to swear by (& pay for) TGM every year. But his site is so outdated. I remember missing a ride because I was using suggested plans that were outdated. I had to back track & grab that one ride at a less than ideal time. My fault for not researching & being fully prepared, but at that time I thought I had done my due diligence by using a planning site.

RideMax.

Well worth the $17 IMHO, esp. when compared with the cost of Disney tickets. While others are waiting in their 75-minute lines, we've already been on all the headliners, and are going to BB in the afternoon.

And more accurate than TouringPlans (I've used both).

Easywdw hands down for choosing the best park each day. :thumbsup2 We typically travel during off peak times so when we decided to go over Easter last year, I was in a panic. Could be an anomaly, but we used Easywdw and had such a great vacation that we're going again this year. We arrived Good Friday used Easywdw for the best parks each day and cruised through the week with no issues. Every day we rode everything on our list at least twice when I heard others at the resort complaining all week about the crowds and lines.

I've utilized both websites but hands down prefer Josh's EasyWDW park recommendations. I've never been steered wrong with his and love his explanations behind choosing the best/worst parks to visit on any given day.

I wasn't a fan of Touring Plans. There certainly isn't anything wrong with the website and do recommend it for people looking to plan their park days. That isn't me. I plan on which park we'll go to and aside from our ADRs, that's it. I can't imagine following an attraction/show spreadsheet though it works wonderfully for others. I also don't like that you have to pay to subscribe but understand it is a business.

Another vote for EasyWDW. We know the parks and don't need or want a detailed plan. Just tell me what the least crowded park is for the days I am going. Worked about 90% of the time.
