Touring plans room request when renting points?

Anyone have experience with this? Of course typically when renting points all requests have to be made by the owner. But I wasnt really sure if the touring plans option had some magic power( I don’t fully understand how TP makes the request for you).

Nope, there’s no magic involved. They just send a fax to the resort. Whether or not you get your request will depend on factors like a) the number of rooms at the resort that meet your criteria and b) how many guests are checking out of rooms that meet your criteria on your arrival date.

That said, don’t rely on only a fax. Be sure to make your requests through the owner, who will contact Member Services and have them enter your requests into the reservation record.

DVC has asked members (and in your case, renters) not to bother sending a fax because in most cases they just toss them in the garbage. Ask the member you are renting from to make the request for you. Limit your requests to two if possible.
