Can anyone look what are my optimal days for the last 9 days on August or so. We had thought to have arrival as Friday August 25th first day in the park being August 26th , 5 days of park hopper with one day off somewhere in the middle. We do have some flexibility but I was trying to find the best days first off for crowds and secondly for on-site hotel prices. I did have a page up I'm my browser earlier this week with the touring plans crowd calendar but now I can only see as far as August 1st without a subscription. Any help would be Certainly appreciated.

I don't have a subscription to Touring Plans, but I wouldn't rely solely on any one crowd calendar. All of them seem to be having issues and none seem any more reliable than any other. I would look at as many crowd calendars as possible to get a general sense of what crowds might be like on the days you're thinking of visiting the parks. These are a few of the other ones that get mentioned here on the Dis (along with Touring Plans):
Is It Packed: http://www.isitpacked.com/disneyland-crowd-forecast-predictor-calendar/
RMH Travel: http://www.rmhtravel.com/disneyland-365-crowd-calendar.html#RANGE!A116

AP blockouts also seem to be effecting crowds (along with any special events or ticket offers).

We went the 29th of August through the 2nd of the September last year and didn't have any issues with crowds. I think the longest we waited for a ride was 45 minutes for Soarin'. We probably would have gotten a FP but already has one for Radiator Springs Racers in hand.

We stayed on site at the DLH so made use of the Extra Magic Hour and FP. I'd say the only days we really noticed the crowds was Friday when all the runners were coming in for the weekend races.

We are going those exact dates (26 - 30), and I picked the dates based on TouringPlans historical crowd levels only for 2012-2016, not the prediction for 2017.

My summary: Expect the weekend to be busy with APs, but enjoy the lighter weekdays. We're going on the weekend to ensure Fireworks and Fantasmic - although it could be possible since Fantasmic is new, it will be running every day during this time, but historically it has not.

Most SoCal kids will be in school during the week. Certainly some will pull their kids out of school to go, but it will likely be a small percentage of APs.

One thing we noticed on our trip during this similar timeframe in 2015 is that the APs would pour in during the afterschool hours, likely for PTN and Disneyland Forever 60th celebrations. So plan to get to the parks early on the weekdays. We did Toy Story 3 times in a row and California Screaming twice in a row on a weekday because they were walk-ons at park opening (when DCA did not have EMH that day).

EDIT: I see you said you plan to have one off day, and that should be fine. According to the historical crowds, the Thursday before Labor Day is still okay, Friday is when things start to ramp up.

Don't fireworks not run nightly end of August? What about WOC and Fantastic? We're coming similar dates Tuesday August 29 - Friday September 1st.

OP...I have Touring Plans on those dates. Sat shows 5. Sun shows 4. Mon shows 3. Tues and We'd show 2. Thurs shows 1. Fri shows 4. Those are overall park numbers. Although I would love a crowd of 1and 2, not sure how accurate it is.

Thurs apparently starts the Marathon so am assuming this brings in crowds.

Fireworks usually go through Labor Day. F! will probably be nightly through Labor Day. World of Color will be on through Labor Day.
The marathon will bring in crowds. You should be fine with the crowds.

We've been that week a couple of times and have never had a big problem with crowds. I think HM will be down for the overlay during that time, though.

Thanks this helps affirm we are in the right direction

Yes no HM but a little slower than week before I guess is the sad tradeoff
