Touring Plans change actual crowd levels?

I'm doing some historical research on Touring Plans. After my 2016 vacation I went on Touring Plans and noted the actual crowd levels. Looking at those same dates today they aren't showing the same crowd levels as they did back in 2016. Has anyone else ever noticed this? Do they go back and adjust crowd levels?

Example: for Jan 18, 2016 (MLK day) after my visit they showed MK as 9 but today on there site they show it as a 5.

I'm curious in your mind (the OP) was MK a 9 that day? I can see adjustments being made but from a 9 to a 5 is a big one. Curious what you thought at the time.

They did make a significant change in 2017 to the way they calculate the numbers and went back and changed some old numbers to make it more useful for folks researching a vacation. Here's an explanation from their website:

"We altered our crowd calendar methodology in 2017, and in that process we updated our 2015 and 2016 data above to reflect that new way of calculating crowd levels. For those who are curious, we make available an Archival Observed Crowd Levels for 2015-2016 file that has numbers based on the methodology used during those years."
