Touring plan for IOA

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hey all,
We will be coming in on April 23rd and planning on spending one day at IOA before our cruise. We are staying at RPR so we will have early hours. We plan on being at the gate early and do WWOHP first, go right to Ollivanders and than Forbidden Journey, than off to the shops and than use our express pass to go to hippogriff and maybe dragon challenge. What would you advise after that? We hope to get out of WWOHP around 12 and get some lunch,,,recommendations?? But we know we want to hit Jurassic Park and Seuss Landing. Our kids are going to be 9,9,5,,one is not so adventurous and the other two are. BTW, our 5 year old is 48 inches so hoping they can ride some "fun" rides. Any suggestions on what to do after WWOHP and lunch or dinner recommendations. We plan to head back to WWOHP at night to get the full aspect of Hogwarts Castle and Hogsmeade at night.

Thanks or any advice or recommendations!

(I accidently posted this in someone elses' post but deleted)

You'll have express privileges so I see no need to plan your day too much--what you have is fine. Mythos is in the Lost Continent section of IoA and gets consistently good reviews, though I've never eaten there. In addition to what you already mentioned, other areas/attractions of the park I would consider for your kids are Toon Lagoon and Marvel Superhero Island (with Spiderman and Storm Force Acceletron).

Thanks--I am assuming you need to make reservations for Mythos?

I think so, but I also don't think one is too difficult to get a few days before. It's not like Disney that way. Someone will be along with a better answer than that.

crowds from spring break will have died down by your date.
you said your date is 4/23 which is a monday.

use the child swap if one of the kids changes their minds or misses a height requirement.
UO has a nice set up for child swap.

by using the express lines, you should be able to cover parry hotter-ville, shops and the front of the park for Seuss.
hit jurassic park once you leave HP.

if you leave the park at noon for food or hit Mythos, the meal could take an hour of your time.
last year when i was at Mythos in early October, it opened at 11:30.

spend the rest of the afternoon at city walk or at the hotel pool.
they have children activities at all 3 hotels.

return to the park around 6 and do some repeat rides at Seuss land.

check the park hours for closing time.

My kids really love the Pteranodon Flyers in Jurassic Park. That does not have any express/FOTL passes. The ride only allows 2 people, one child one adult and have height requirements but again, it's very popular and the line wait gets really long. I suggest as soon as you're done with Harry Potter World head to Jurassic Park and do that ride while the waits are under an hour.

Other than that, we head back to Dr. Seussland and spend time there and work clockwise. We end with the wet rides so we leave the park wet and happy.
