Hi - my teen daughter and I will be spending one day in DL/DCA in March. I'll be in California for a conference. I go once every two years and I always spend one day in DL. I'm excited to take my daughter this year as she's never been there before.

I need help planning out our day and figuring out how to use MP. We are getting park hoppers and will be there pretty much an entire day. And, I have a tradition that I always start out in DL doing all of the Fantasyland rides before they get busy. Not sure if it's the best strategy but it's always worked well for me and it's my go-to starting place. After Fantasyland our must-dos in no particular order are:
  • RSR
  • Soarin
  • Indiana Jones
  • Monsters Inc
  • Little Mermaid
  • Big Thunder
  • IASW
  • Haunted Mansion
  • Pirates
  • Jungle Cruise
  • Space Mtn
  • Storyland Canal Boats
We are ride junkies - we don't usually do many of the shows or parades. And, my daughter doesn't really like a lot of coasters or big drops so not doing Splash or Guardians of the Galaxy. Should I try for the RSR first with MaxPass? I'd love to ride it at night but I'm afraid of missing out altogether if I wait too long to try and get them. Appreciate any advice!

Thanks!

Rsr is worth doing at night. It has single rider if for some reason you miss getting a fast pass.

Your best bet is to single ride as much as possible and save fast passes for the rides you can’t. You will be able to get much more done that way. Doing both parks in one day is tough.

I think starting in Fantasyland is a good idea, I'd pull the first MP for Space or Indy while in line in FL. Depending on how long FL takes and your MP time you could hit IASW before heading to Space/Indy. Around noon FP for RSR is usually in the evening/night so start looking for a time that will work with your plans. If your daughter can handle Space & Big Thunder I would suggest trying Incredicoaster; the only really intense part is the loop

For me a rough plan would be
  1. Fantasyland
  2. IASW
  3. Space FP
  4. Star tours FP or Standby
  5. Buzz
  6. Big Thunder
  7. Haunted Mansion FP or Standby
  8. Pirates
  9. Indy FP
  10. Jungle Crusie
  11. Hop to DCA
  12. Monsters Inc
  13. Soarin FP
  14. Little Mermaid
  15. Toy Story Mania FP
  16. RSR FP
  17. Carsland
