My husband and I are taking our children to Universal at my 14 year old daughters request. My husband and daughter will spend two days at the parks as they are thrill seekers. My 12 year old son and I cannot go to Orlando without a visit to Disney so we will only be there one day. He may or may not go on any rides at Universal as he is not a thrill seeker. He used to love Space Mountain but on our last Disney trip he hated it.

My 14 year old thrill seeker daughter is tiny: 4'9" and 80 lbs. are there any rides which will be unsafe for her to ride even if she is over the height requirement (questioning Hulk?)

Do you think my mildly ride averse son could handle gringott's and Spider-Man?

If you do not have early entry is it better to start at the park with early entry or the one without? IOA has early entry president's week? We will probably start at HP no matter which park we go to first.

How early will we need to line up for the Mardi Gras parade on a thursday and is there a good location for the parade and the cinematic show?

suggest you go to the ride/show section in the above site.
you will get a decent description about the rides in the parks which might help your son decide what he would want to do.

for coasters, there are RRR, Mummy, Hulk, Dueling Dragons in the parks so the parks are not all about coasters.

height requirements are at 4'8" for rides.
your daughter will be safe on the rides, even the hulk.

Excellent advice to read the website, full of info about everything to do with parks, rides and so much more.

Loads of threads on here too that you will have lots of info for you to read before you visit. You can use the search function to bring up threads about stuff too.........

No idea whether your son will cope with rides or not, Gringotts isn't rough or wild, Spider-Man is a little rougher. As Mac said read the descriptions on the website and see how it sounds to you and your son.

No bad place to see the Cinematic show around the lagoon.

I would almost warn you more about motion simulated rides than the real motion thrill rides...there are plenty of partially or mostly motion simulated rides...some with 3-D glasses and some without. If your kids don't get motion sickness, too bad, then you'll be good on most rides...motion or otherwise.

I am good on most of the motion rides, unless it is hot in the building and the one that I find to be too warm, most of the time, is the Simpsons.
