Touble Getting Rebate $- Radio Shack

My $80 rebate for purchasing Comcast and a cable modem at Radioshack was supposed to be here in 8 to 10 weeks. It has been 12 weeks, so I made a call.

Their rebate center said my rebate is approved, but my check has not been issued and they have no idea when it will be. They said, "Call back in two weeks."

Now, I'm mad and asked for two supervisors, who said there was nothing they could do. I have a call in to the Radioshack store manager to see if there is anything he can do before I file a complaint with the BBB and the Attorney Genereal's Office.

Has anyone else had an experience like this and what did you do?

Until I saw your post I had forgotten that I am also waiting for a rebate from Radio Shack buying 2 DVD players! I'll also have to follow-up. Thanks for the reminder:D When I purchased them I tried to use my Radio Shack credit card which I used once the previous Christmas, they wouldn't let me use it til they did a credit check since it had been a year since I used it:confused: I said forget it, I wasn't waiting (day after Thanksgiving!!)I highly doubt I will go there again.
 
I purchased my DirecTV system from RS..I sent in my $100 rebate form and I did recieve a check in the mail. (sounds like I lucked out)

I can't remember if the check was from DirecTV or RS.

I recently read that only 40% of qualified rebates actually get sent out (in my local paper). But you should get yours if they said it was approved. I'm waiting for several rebates myself, one I know has been approved, but I don't know about the rest!
 
FYI. We did a rebate program before Christmas and recently a customer called for the status of his money. We explained that it was in the hands of a clearing house, located in another state, and that we had no control over the situation. The reason he was following up is becasue he had been waiting for months for a large rebate from an electronics company and was really disgusted at the slow process. We figure the clearing house was waiting for the final postmark date and receipt of those last-minute forms to begin sending out checks.

I don't know if Radio Shack employees have anyone to contact in regard to your rebate. You would need to get in touch with the corporate office. I'm sure they have a website and could probably email them from there. I would send an inquiry about the lateness of the check and see if they can trace themailings of the rebate checks.

Thanks for replies and advice. I will try to find a corporate address if the store manager can't help. I'll let everyone know if or when my check comes.
